As a result of medical malpractice, I was born with a disability caused by a brain lesion. I had a miserable childhood because of my parents’ divorce and my mother’s aggressive parenting. In the process, I believed that I had to stand on my own feet with no one to look after me. I was obsessed with the feeling that I must be a guardian for myself. Just like Baasha, king of Israel, who strived to build Ramah (v. 1), I also worked hard to build a fortress and credentials that would protect me from my sense of inferiority and disability. As a doctor, I stood trial two years ago for illegal rebate management. In my fourth year of residency, I became Chief Resident and received a rebate from a supplier, following an illegal practice that was handed down at my workplace. Before the trial, I was self-righteous and justified my actions by telling myself that I was doing this for the good of the hospital and that everything would be fine as long as I did not use the money for anything illegal. However, the trial helped me realize myself living without the Word of God like a lost sheep without his shepherd (v. 16). (Sungwon Park)

My daughter is in her first year of high school. One day, her homeroom teacher called me and said, “Ms. Park, your daughter is cheerful at school, but the result of the psychological evaluation came out that she is suicidal.” This resulted from me. When she was three years old, I beat her mercilessly when I got mad and exploded. I looked into her eyes and screamed at her, “Why did you have to come to this world?” When I came to my senses, I was repulsed by what I had done and cried out. Then my daughter would bring me tissues and wipe my tears when she was crying too. It happened fourteen years ago, but her scar did not go away. 더불어 영어권에 있는 해외 독자들의 수요가 점점 늘어남에 따라 2019년 9월에는 영문판 《QTin》이 eBook으로 창간되었고, 2020년 1월부터는 종이책으로도 발간되고 있습니다. 《QTin》은 국내외 독자들에게 구속사적인 말씀묵상 운동을 전하고자 40여 명의 필진과 편집부가 섬기고 있습니다. 《QTin》을 통해 한국뿐만 아니라 해외에서도 성도가 살아나고, 가정이 회복되며, 교회가 새롭게 되는 열매가 맺히기를 기대합니다.

큐티엠(큐티선교회, Quiet Time Movement)에서는 장년에서부터 청소년, 어린이, 영유아에 이르기까지 모든 세대가 한 말씀으로 날마다 묵상하는 것을 돕고자 2013년에는 《청소년 큐티인》을, 2014년에는 초등학생을 위한 《어린이 큐티인》을 차례로 창간한 바 있으며, 여기에도 청소년과 어린이 필자들의 생생한 묵상간증이 실려 있습니다. 그리고 2016년 1월에는 미취학 아동을 위한 《새싹 큐티인》을 창간하여 전 세대가 같은 말씀으로 묵상하도록 돕고 있습니다.
