응용행동분석 기반 부모교육 프로그램의 개발과 적용이 발달장애 아동 부모의 효능감과 양육 스트레스에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 발달장애 아동 부모를 위한 응용행동분석 기반 부모교육 프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 프로그램 개발을 위해 발달장애 아동 부모 316명의 영구산물 자료를 분석하여 주요 요구를 도출하였고, ADDIE 교수설계 모형을 토대로 부모의 실제 요구와 피드백을 반영하여 설계하였다. 응용행동분석 이론과 선행 부모교육 연구의 강점을 보완하여 총 10회기(이론교육 8회기, 부모코칭 2회기)로 구성되었다. 이를 적용한 실험연구에는 발달장애 아동 부모 37명이 참여하였으며, 단일집단 사전-사후 검사 설계를 적용하였다. 연구 결과, 프로그램 참여 부모의 양육 효능감은 전반적으로 유의하게 향상되었고, 특히 전반적인 양육능력, 의사소통능력, 훈육능력에서 두드러진 증가가 확인되었다. 또한 부모의 양육 스트레스는 주관적, 객관적 영역 모두에서 유의하게 감소하였다. 그러나 자녀의 문제행동 수준을 평가한 CBCL 점수에서는 통계적으로 유의미한 변화가 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 부모교육이 부모 개인의 심리적, 행동적 역량 강화에는 효과적이지만, 자녀의 문제행동 감소로까지 즉각적인 변화를 이끌어내는 데는 한계가 있음을 시사한다. 본 연구는 발달장애 아동부모의 실제 요구에 기반한 프로그램을 지역사회 현장에 적용하여 효과를 검증하였다는 점에서 학문적, 실천적 의의를 지닌다. 향후 교육을 이수한 부모 및 자녀에 대한 장기간 추적조사와 다양한 변인을 포함한 확장 연구가 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study developed an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)–based parent training program for parents of children with developmental disabilities and examined its effectiveness. To inform program development, permanent products from 316 parents were analyzed to derive key needs, and the program was designed using the ADDIE instructional design model to reflect parents’ actual needs and feedback. Drawing on ABA theory and strengths identified in prior parent-training research, the final program comprised 10 sessions (eight didactic sessions and two individualized parent-coaching sessions). The program was evaluated in a single-group pretest–posttest design with 37 parents of children with developmental disabilities. Results indicated a significant overall increase in parenting self-efficacy, with especially notable gains in general parenting competence, communication, and discipline. Parenting stress decreased significantly in both subjective and objective domains. In contrast, Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) scores showed no statistically significant change in children’s problem behaviors. These findings suggest that, while the program effectively enhances parents’ psychological and behavioral capacities, it may be limited in producing immediate reductions in children’s problem behaviors. The study has academic and practical significance in that it developed and implemented a needs-based program in community settings and verified its effects. Future research should include long-term follow-up of participating parents and children and expanded models incorporating additional variables.
