국문 초록

21세기에 들어 인공지능의 급속한 발전은 인간의 사고와 감정을 근본적으로 규정하는 요소가 무엇인지에 대한 새로운 탐구를 촉진하고 있다. 본 연구는 스피노자의 윤리학을 기반으로, 감정을 ‘몸의 변화’로 정의하며, 자기 자신을 진정으로 이해하기 위해서는 자신의 감정을 깊이 탐구해야 한다고 주장한다. 또한 미분학의 개념을 적용하여 순간적인 감정변화에 주목할 때, 과거·현재·미래가 감정의 본질 안에서 어떻게 공존하는지를 이해할 수 있음을 논증한다. 나아가 몸의 본성을 ‘영원하고 무한한 생명과 사랑’으로 정의할 때, 감정 또한 동일한 본성을 공유하며, 이로 인해 몸과 감정이 깊이 연결되어 있음을 밝힌다. 이러한 관점은 기술이 주도하는 현대 사회에서 인문학이 갖는 실질적인 의의를 조명하며, 인간 존재를 이해하는 데 있어 감정에 대한 이성적 탐구가 여전히 필수적임을 강조한다. 또한 심리학, 교육학, 문화학 등 다양한 분야와 접목하여 감정의 복합성을 이해하는 폭넓은 학제 간 연구 가능성을 제시한다. 궁극적으로, 본 연구는 감정이 인간 삶의 필수적 요소이며, 그 본질 속에 이미 과거·현재·미래가 내재되어 있음을 강조한다. 이를 통해 인문학의 지속적인 필요성을 확인하며, 인공지능이 주도하는 시대에도 감정적 통찰과 자기 성찰이 여전히 개인의 성장과 인간 중심 사회 형성을 위한 핵심 요소로 작용함을 주장한다.

영문 초록

In the 21st century, the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence has prompted renewed inquiry into what fundamentally characterizes human thought and emotion. This study posits that truly understanding oneself requires a deep comprehension of one’s own emotions, drawing on Spinoza’s ethics, which conceptualizes emotion as a change in the body’s power. By adopting an analogy with differential calculus, the analysis suggests that paying close attention to instantaneous emotional shifts offers a way to recognize how past, present, and future co-exist within the essence of emotion itself. Furthermore, defining the body’s nature as “eternal, boundless life and love” extends that same nature to emotion, revealing how deeply intertwined they are. This perspective illuminates the practical significance of the humanities in an era increasingly dominated by technology, illustrating that explorations of reason and emotion remain indispensable for understanding human existence. The study also emphasizes the interdisciplinary potential of this approach, bridging areas such as psychology, education, and cultural studies to provide a broader framework for grasping emotional complexity. Ultimately, by foregrounding emotion as an integral element of human life—one in which past, present, and future are embedded—this research reaffirms the continuing relevance of the humanities. It argues that, even in an AI-driven world, the cultivation of emotional insight and self-awareness remains essential for guiding personal development and fostering a genuinely human-centered society.
