국문 초록
Due to urbanization, rising living standards, and global environmental shifts such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the volume and composition of household waste have changed significantly.
As a result, the importance of incineration facilities as final waste treatment systems for environmental protection has grown.
With the advancement of incineration technologies to meet international standards, there is increasing demand for improved environmental management to enhance quality of life and promote sustainable development.
This study analyzes the characteristics and physicochemical properties of household waste generated in Haeundae-gu, Busan. Additionally, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations were conducted to re-evaluate internal flow patterns in an existing Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system to ensure NOx emissions comply with the Ministry of Environment’s regulations.
The SCR was divided into sub-regions, and chemical injection was simulated to evaluate reaction and heat transfer behavior. To improve the consistency of contact between the reactant gases and the catalyst surface, a porous plate was employed within the system. The Navier–Stokes equations and the k-ε turbulence model were used to analyze flow behavior. Results indicated reduced flow drift, enhanced diffusion, improved gas mixture uniformity, and a predominantly vertical flow, suggesting that structural improvements such as porous plates and baffles contribute to more effective NOx reduction.
