한글 교육을 위한 단어 선정 연구 - 훈민정음, 훈몽자회, 초등 교과서 비교를 중심으로 -

국문 초록

한글 교육의 효율성을 높이기 위해서는 교육용 단어 선정에 주의를 기울여야 한다. 이 연구는 훈민정음 해례와 훈몽자회를 통해 한글 교육용 단어 선정의 원리를 찾는다. 훈민정음 해례의 초성해, 중성해는 한글 교육에서 받침이 없는 글자를 가르치는 중요한 정보를 제공하며, 훈몽자회의 한글 교육 원리를 설명한 부분은 한글 교육을 위해 1음절 우리말 단어를 제시하는 중요한 단초를 보여준다. 두 가지 중요 자료를 통해 다음과 같은 한글 교육용 단어 추출의 원리를 설정할 수 있다. 첫째, 한글 교육용 단어는 음운론적 최소대립쌍을 고려하여 선정해야 한다. 목표 글자에 초점을 맞추기 위해 목표 이외의 초성자나 중성자는 고정하고 단어를 선정한다. 둘째, 목표로 하는 글자가 단어의 첫째 음절에 있는 것을 골라야 한다. 1음절 단어가 최적이며, 2음절 단어라면 목표 글자가 첫째 음절에 있는 것을 골라야 한다. 셋째, 목표로 하는 글자 교육을 위한 단어와 글자 적용을 위한 단어를 구별해야 한다. 글자 교육용 단어는 한 단어로 충분하며, 그 후에 적용을 위한 단어로 확장한다. 넷째, 한글 교육용 단어는 단어 학습이 목표가 아니므로 목표 글자를 설명하는 데 반복해서 사용한다. 이런 원리를 적용하여 초등학교 국어 교과서의 한글 교육용 단어의 문제를 확인하고 대안을 마련할 수 있다.

영문 초록

To enhance the efficiency of Korean language education, attention must pair to the selection of Hangeul educational words. This study seeks to find the principles of selecting words for Hangeul education through the 'Hunminjeongeum Haerye' and 'Hunmongjahoe.' The initial and medial sounds explained in the 'Hunminjeongeum Haerye' provide important information for teaching Hangeul characters without final consonants in Korean education, while the section in the 'Hunmongjahoe' that explains the principles of Korean language education offers significant insights for presenting one-syllable Korean words for educational purposes. Through these two important resources, principles for extracting vocabulary for Hangeul education can be established. There are many problems with words for Hangeul education in elementary school textbooks. The principles of selecting words for Hangeul education is clear. Firstly, words for Hangeul education should be selected with consideration of phonological minimal pairs. To focus on the target letters, consonants and vowels other than the target should be fixed when selecting words. Secondly, we should be choose words where the target letter appears in the first syllable of the word. One-syllable word is optimal and a two-syllable words, the target should be in the first syllable. Thirdly, it is important to distinguish between words used for letter Hangeul education and words used for letter Hangeul application. A single word is sufficient for letter education, and after that, it can be expanded to words for application. Fourthly, words for Hangeul education should not focus on vocabulary learning, so the target letter should be repeatedly used to explain the letter. By applying these principles, it is possible to identify issues in Hangeul education words in elementary school textbooks and develop alternatives.
