교육리더십의 양면성과 양가성에 관한 시론적 고찰

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 교육리더십의 일반적 성격으로 논의된 양면성과 양가성이 모호하게 정의되어 왔다는 문제인식에서 양면성과 양가성의 특성과 양면적 리더십 이론을 체계적으로 분석하고 교육리더십 연구에 주는 함의를 도출하고자 하였다. 주요 연구 방법으로 문헌분석을 적용하여, 양면성과 양가성의 개념을 고찰하고 이를 토대로 교육리더십의 성격을 재검토하였다. 또한, 양면적 리더십 이론을 분석한 후, 교육리더십 연구의 실제를 분석하였다. 주요한 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 양가성과 양면성 개념은 공통점과 차이점이 있었지만, 교육리더십 연구에서는 두 개념을 명확하게 구분하지 않거나 혼용하고 있었다. 둘째, 양면적 리더십은 지속가능한 조직 혁신에 기여하는 것으로 상반된 리더십 행동을 유연하게 전환하는 것을 의미한다. 그러나 교육리더십 연구에서는 상반된 두 가지 리더십 행동 중 하나를 선택하거나 소극적인 균형을 강조하였다. 이상의 연구결과를 토대로, 지속가능한 교육혁신을 위한 상호 보완적인 교육리더십의 필요성을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to systematically analyze the concepts, attributes, and implications of double-sidedness and ambivalence in educational leadership, addressing the issue of their ambiguous definitions in previous research. The study employed a literature review methodology to re-examine the attributes of educational leadership based on the concepts of double-sidedness and ambivalence. Additionally, it analyzed the concept and components of ambidextrous leadership in the field of management and examined its practical applications in educational leadership research. The main findings are as follows: First, the concepts of double-sidedness and ambivalence shared commonalities but also exhibited differences. In educational leadership research, these two concepts were often not clearly distinguished or were used interchangeably. Second, ambidextrous leadership was found to contribute to sustainable organizational innovation. However, in educational leadership research, there was a tendency to either choose one of two contrasting leadership behaviors or emphasize a passive balance between them. Based on these findings, the study concluded by highlighting the necessity of complementary educational leadership approaches for sustainable educational innovation.
