항공서비스 전공자의 외국어 역량 강화를 위한 비교과과정 사례 연구

국문 초록

최근 항공 산업은 지원자들의 경쟁이 심화되면서, 보다 전문적이고 다재다능한 인재에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 S대학교는 학생들의 외국어 역량 강화와 더불어 행정 및 관리 능력 함양을 목표로 하는 비교과 프로그램을 개발하였다. 이러한 역량은 학생들의 취업 경쟁력 제고를 위해 필수적인 요소로 판단되었다. 이에 항공관광과에서는 2017년 2학기부터 2018년 1학기까지 두 학기에 걸쳐 영어, 일본어, 중국어 및 사무 행정 관련 자격 과정(워드프로세서, 비서 자격증)을 중심으로 비교과 프로그램을 운영하였다. 그 결과, 전체 참여자의 56.9%가 TOEIC Speaking, JPT, HSK 등의 외국어 공인 자격을 취득하였고, 일부는 워드프로세서 및 비서 관련 자격증을 획득하였다. 본 프로그램은 학점과는 무관한 비교과 활동으로 기획되었으며, 과정 설계는 담당 교수진과 학과장, 프로그램 운영자가 협의하여 체계적으로 이루어졌다. 본 논문은 해당 비교과 프로그램의 기획부터 운영, 그리고 성과에 이르기까지의 전 과정을 고찰하고자 한다.

영문 초록

In recent years, the airline industry has grown increasingly competitive, leading to heightened expectations for skilled and versatile job candidates. To respond to this demand, S College developed a series of extracurricular programs aimed at strengthening students' foreign language proficiency and equipping them with administrative and managerial skills—both considered vital for securing employment in the field. Accordingly, the Department of Air Travel and Tourism implemented extracurricular courses in English, Japanese, Chinese, and administrative certification training (Word Processor Specialist and Certified Professional Secretary) over two semesters from Fall 2017 to Spring 2018. As a result, 56.9% of participating students successfully obtained certifications in tests such as TOEIC Speaking, JPT, and HSK, while others earned qualifications in office-related certifications. These programs were intentionally designed as non-credit, extracurricular initiatives, following careful planning and collaboration between program facilitators, department leadership, and faculty members. This study explores the development, implementation, and effectiveness of the program.
