대입전형이 취업에 미치는 효과 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 수시 학생부종합전형과 정시 수능전형 간의 취업성과 차이를 분석하기 위해 교육대학의 2016 학년도 입학생 데이터를 활용하여 초등교사 임용고사 합격 여부를 중심으로 성과를 분석하였다. 교육대학의 경우 대부분의 졸업생이 동일한 진로(초등임용시험)를 선택하기 때문에 입학전형의 효과를 상대적으로 명확하게 확인할 수 있다는 장점을 갖는다. 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과, 수시학종 여부는 임용합격에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않았으며, 고등학교 내신등급, 성별, 연령 등 배경 변수 또한 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 수능등급과 대학 재학 중 GPA는 임용고사 합격에 통계적으로 유의하게 궁정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 대입 전형보다는 수능으로 측정되는 기초 학업역량과 대학생활 성취도가 향후 취업성과에 더 중요한 요인임을 시사한다. 본 연구는 교육대학이라는 특수한 맥락에 제한되나, 향후 보다 넓은 범위의 데이터를 이용한 일반화 가능성 있는 연구의 필요성을 제기한다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the impact of college admission types — specifically the student record-based comprehensive admission (so-called "holistic review") and the standardized test-based admission — on employment outcomes by examining data from a cohort of students who entered an education-focused university in 2016. Since graduates of education universities typically pursue a uniform career path as elementary school teachers, this setting allows for a clearer evaluation of admission types on employment success. Using logistic regression analysis, the study finds that the type of admission (holistic vs. test-based) does not have a statistically significant effect on teacher employment exam outcomes. Likewise, background variables such as high school GPA, gender, and age were not significant predictors. In contrast, standardized test scores and undergraduate GPA were positively associated with employment success. These results suggest that academic preparedness and college performance are more critical than admission types in predicting employment outcomes. While limited to the context of education universities, this study highlights the need for broader research using national data to allow for generalization.
