체계적 문헌고찰을 통한 사회과 환경교육 연구 동향 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 사회과에서의 환경교육 연구 동향을 분석하고, 앞으로의 연구 방향을 제안하는 데 목적이 있다. 체계적 문헌고찰 방법을 활용하여 자료를 수집하고, 연구의 시기, 목적, 방법, 학교급, 생태적 관점 등을 기준으로 연구 경향을 살펴 보았다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 사회과 환경교육 연구는 1970년대에 시작하였으며 2010년대에 가장 많은 연구물이 출간되었다. 둘째, 연구 목적 면에서, 사회과에서는 교수·학습 방안 개발을 위한 환경교육의 연구 흐름이 강하게 나타났다. 셋째, 연구 방법으로는 문헌연구 방법이 가장 높은 빈도로 활용되었다. 넷째, 학교급을 기준으로, 초등 대상의 연구 비중이 높았다. 다섯째, 2010 년대 이후로 사회과에서는 생태적 관점을 강조하는 환경교육 연구가 증가하였다. 이 연구는 사회과에서의 환경교육 연구 동향을 살펴본 최초의 시도로서, 분석 결과를 바탕으로 환경교육에 있어서 사회과의 선도적 역할, 현황 조사의 수행, 연구 방법의 다양화, 중등 학교급에 대한 추가적 관심 등을 향후 과제로 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze research trends in environmental education within social studies and propose future research directions. Using a systematic literature review, data were collected, and research trends were examined based on time period, purpose, methods, school levels, and ecological perspectives. The analysis yields the following results: First, research on environmental education in social studies began in the 1970s, with the most publications appearing in 2010s. Second, more than half of the research focused on developing teaching-learning methods within social studies. Third, theoretical studies was the most frequently used. Fourth, in terms of school levels, research focusing on elementary education had the highest proportion. Fifth, after 2010, there was an increase in studies emphasizing ecological perspectives. As the first attempt to examine trends in environmental education research in social studies, the study suggests future directions such as the leading role of social studies in environmental education, conducting status surveys, diversifying research methods, and paying additional attention to secondary education.
