서이초 교사 추모 집회와 연대하는 교사의 탄생 : 교사 집회 상호작용 의례 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 서이초 교사 추모 집회를 Collins의 상호작용 의례 사슬 이론의 관점에서 심층적으로 분석하였다. 특히 추모 집회를 감정의 관점에서 분석하기 위해 두 가지 연구 문제를 설정하였다. 첫째, 서이초 교사 추모 집회 참여자들의 감정 에너지 상승을 유발한 기제는 무엇인가? 둘째, 서이초 교사 추모 집회 참여자들의 감정 에너지는 어떤 결과물로 나타나는가? 분석을 위해 질적 연구 방법으로써 추모 집회 영상 자료 분석과 집회 참여자 심층 면담의 방법을 활용하였으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 집회 참여자들의 감정 에너지를 형성하는 기제로 집회 전 감정적 상호작용, 집회 내의 관심의 초점 공유와 감정 공유 과정을 확인할 수 있었다. 서이초 교사 사망 사건에 의해 촉발된 감정적 상호작용은 교사들이 교육 문화의 폭력성을 구조적 차원에서 성찰하는 계기가 되었다. 집회 의례 내에서 나타나는 관심의 초점 공유와 교사 감정 공유의 과정은 참여자들을 감정 공동체로 규합하며, 이들의 감정 에너지를 강하게 고조시킨다. 집회 참여자들 내부의 감정 에너지는 이들에게 집단적 유대의 형성과 치유의 경험으로 나타나고, 이는 교사들을 공동체와 함께 연대하는 주체로 거듭나게 한다. 이와 동시에 교사 집단 내에서 교사의 정치적 기본권에 대한 담론 형성 역시 확인된다. 본 연구는 서이초 교사 추모 집회라는 사회적 현상을 감정의 관점에서 분석함으로써 감정적 상호작용이 거대한 교육적 현상을 유발하는 기제를 단계적으로 규명하고 있다. 또한 교사 감정을 통해 교육의 장이 내포한 구조적 폭력성을 지적함과 동시에 개인들이 감정을 매개로 연대를 형성하고 전복적 실천을 수행하는 힘에 주목한다.

영문 초록

This study provides an in-depth analysis of the memorial rally for Seoi Elementary School teacher through the lens of Collins' Interaction Ritual Chains theory. To analyze the rally from an emotional perspective, we set two research questions: First, what mechanisms triggered the rise of emotional energy among participants of the memorial rally? Second, what are the outcomes of the emotional energy experienced by participants at the memorial rally? For the analysis, I utilized the method of video date analysis and conducted in-depth interviews with participants. The findings are as follows: Firstly, the emotional interaction triggered by the teacher's death before the rally provided teachers with an opportunity to reflect on the violence within the educational culture on a structural level. And, the process of creating mutual focus of attention and shared mood within the rally strongly elevated the teachers' emotional energy through emotional interaction. The emotional energy among participants resulted in the formation of collective bonds and experiences of healing, leading to teachers becoming agents of solidarity and sparking discussions on teachers' political basic rights. This study step-by-step elucidates the mechanisms through which individual emotions and their interactions can lead to significant educational phenomena by analyzing the memorial rally for teachers from an emotional perspective. Additionally, by focusing on teachers' emotions, this research highlights the structural violence inherent in the educational field and the power of individuals to form solidarity and engage in subversive practices through emotional mediation.
