장애 학생의 소통적 욕구를 반영한 특수교사의 수업 몸짓 언어 사용 특징

국문 초록

인지 및 언어발달에 결함을 가지고 있는 장애 학생을 대상으로 한 수업의 경우에는 언어 이외의 요소들을 수단으로 한 의사소통이 차지하는 비중이 높다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 총 8개 수업 영상을 대상으로 특수교사가 수업에서 사용하는 몸짓 언어를 유형과 기능으로 구분하여 각각 분석하였다. 첫 번째 연구 문제에서는 몸짓 언어의 유형별 빈도수를 분석하였으며, 그 결과 지시적 몸짓이 전체 몸짓의 70.5%로 가장 많은 출현율을 보였으며, 도상적 몸짓과 기타 몸짓이 각각 12.8% 그리고 은유적 몸짓이 2.6%로 나타났다. 두 번째 연구 문제인 몸짓 언어의 기능을 분석한 결과, 인지적 기능, 강조 기능, 정의적 기능 그리고 화자 중심 표현 몸짓으로 범주화되었다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 장애 학생의 특성에 적합한 교사의 수업 몸짓 언어의 유형과 기능에 주목하고, 몸짓 언어의 교육적 가치를 제고하는 계기가 되기를 기대하는 바이다.

영문 초록

In the case of classes for students with disabilities who have deficiencies in cognitive and language development, communication using elements other than language accounts for a high proportion. Therefore, in this paper, a total of eight class videos were analyzed after dividing the gesture language used by special education teachers in classes by type and by function, respectively. With regard to the first research question, the frequencies of gesture language by type were analyzed, and according to the result, directive gestures showed the highest appearance rate at 70.5% of all gestures, followed by iconic gestures and other gestures at 12.8% each, and metaphorical gestures at 2.6%. The functions of gesture language, which is the second research question, were analyzed, and according to the result, the functions were categorized into cognitive function, emphasizing function, affective function, and speaker-centered expressive gestures. We hope that the findings of this study will illuminate the types and functions of teachers' instructional gestures that are most suitable for the characteristics of students with disabilities, and serve as an opportunity to enhance the educational value of gesture language.
