국문 초록

치과진료에서 감염의 치료 및 예방은 매우 중요한 부분을 차지한다. 따라서 항균제는 치과의사가 빈번하게 처방하는 약물로서, 약물 유해작용을 최소화하면서도 최대한의 감염 치료 및 예방 효과를 얻을 수 있도록 선택하는 것이 중요하다. 치과에서 항균제 처방은 감 염의 임상적 특성과 예상 감염균을 고려하여 경험적으로 이루어지는 경우가 많다. 다양한 항균제 중에서 환자에게 가장 적합한 약물을 선택하기 위해서는 감염의 양상, 경과, 부위, 환자의 전신 건강 상태뿐만 아니라 항균제의 독성, 알레르기 유발 가능성, 기회 감염 유발 가능성 등을 종합적으로 고려해야 한다. 약물을 처방할 때 가장 적절한 방법은 근거에 기반한 약물 처방 가이드라인을 따르는 것이다. 이 논문에서는 항균제 처방 가이드라인을 바탕으로, 치과에서 어떤 약물을 선택하는 것이 가장 적절한지에 대해 고찰하고자 한다.

영문 초록

In dental practice, the treatment and prevention of infections are crucial aspects of patient care, making the prescription of antimicrobials a common practice among dentists. Selecting the right antimicrobials is vital to ensure maximum efficacy in treating and preventing infections while minimizing the risk of adverse drug reactions. Often, antimicrobial prescriptions in dentistry are empirical, relying on the clinical characteristics of the infection and the suspected pathogens. Choosing the most appropriate antimicrobial for a patient in-volves considering the nature, course, and site of the infection, the patient's overall health, as well as the antimicrobial's tox-icity, potential for allergic reactions, and risk of opportunistic infections. Adhering to evidence-based prescription guidelines is the most effective approach to antimicrobial selection. Such guide-lines help dentists make informed decisions, ensuring that the chosen antimicrobial is both safe and effective for the specific clinical scenario. This paper aims to review these guidelines and provide a detailed analysis of the selection process for ap-propriate antimicrobials in dental practice. By doing so, it seeks to identify the best choices for managing and preventing infec-tions, ultimately enhancing patient care and outcomes.
