국문 초록

동화나 민담은 집단적 무의식과 인간정신에 대한 이해를 제공해 주는 유용한 도구이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 동화 잠자는 숲속의 공주 를 분석심리학적으로 해석해 봄으로써, 동화가 가지는 여러 가지 상징을 해석하고 이해해 보고자 하였다. 잠자는 숲속의 공주 내용은 다음과 같다. 오랜 노력 끝에 왕과 왕비는 딸을 얻게 되었으며, 이를 축하하기 위해 요정들을 초대한다. 그러나 초대받지 못한 요정이 공주는 15년 후 물레에 찔려 죽을 것이라 저주하였으나, 착한 어린 요정이 저주를 완화시켜 공주는 100년간 잠이 들게 될 것이며, 왕자가 나타나 잠을 깨울 것이라 하였다. 15년 후 공주는 저주대로 물레에 찔려 잠들게 되었고, 부모는 성에 잠든 딸을 남기고 떠나게 된다. 100년이 지난 날 사냥을 나온 왕자는 성에 잠들어 있는 공주의 소문을 듣고 성에 들어서게 된다. 성에 들어가서 왕자는 공주를 만나게 되어, 공주는 잠에서 깨어났고, 왕자와 공주는 행복하게 살게 되었다는 내용이다. 본 연구는 숲이 갖는 집단적 무의식성, 의식의 일방향적 흐름에 따라 요청되는 무의식의 출현으로써 개구리의 등장, 그리고 시련을 가져오면서 또한 극복하게 하는 요정, 의식의 죽음 상태인 잠, 집단 무의식성을 상징하는 가시덤불과 숫자 15가 가지는 의미를 분석함으로써, 인간의 정신세계에 대해 심층적으로 이해하고자 하였다. 본 이야기는 왕자와 공주의 결합으로 마치게 되는데, 이는 대극의 합일을 의미하며, 자기실현으로 이해될 수 있다.

영문 초록

Old stories such as fairy tales and folk tales are valuable tools that provide understandings of collective unconscious as well as human spirits. So this paper aims to show aspects of Jungian individuation process in fairy tales focusing on Sleeping princess of forest . The contents of Sleeping princess of forest are as follows. After many years of hard work, the king and queen have a daughter, and the fairies are invited to celebrate it. However, the uninvited fairy cursed that the princess would die after being stabbed by a spinning wheel 15 years later. The little fairy alleviated the curse, saying that the princess would fall asleep for 100 years, and that the prince will show up later and wake him up. Fifteen years later, the princess was stabbed by a spinning wheel and fell asleep as predicted, and the parents left the castle leaving their sleeping daughter behind. A hundred years later, the prince, who went hunting, entered the castle after hearing rumors of a sleeping princess. When the prince entered the castle and met the princess, the princess woke up and the prince and the princess lived happily ever after. This study symbolizes the collective unconsciousness of the forest, the appearance of frogs as the emergence of the unconscious requested according to the one-way flow of consciousness, the fairy that brings and overcomes trials, sleep, the state of death of consciousness, and collective unconsciousness. By analyzing the meaning of thorns and the number 15, we tried to understand the human mental world in-depth. This story ends with the union of a prince and a princess, which means the union of opposites and can be understood as self-actualization.
