젊은 공연예술인들의 일의 의미 탐색: 무엇이 그들을 예술에 머물게 하는가

국문 초록

본 연구는 자신이 하고 싶은 일을 하기 위해서 스스로 독특한 직업환경을 선택한 사람들의 일의 의미는 어떻게 구성되어 있는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이에 생계 직업을 따로 가지면서도 공연예술인들이 예술에 머물러 있는 사례를 통해 일의 의미를 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구참여자는 경력 5년차 이상의 20~30대의 공연예술인 6명으로 구성하여 심층면담을 진행하였고 분석을 위해 질적 사례 연구 방법을 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 연구참여자들의 일의 의미는 “내가 무엇을 원하는지 알게 해준 나의 발견”, “창조의 재미와 발전적 행위”로 자신을 예술의 가치를 전해주는 전달자로 생각하고 있었다. 또한, 예술을 “자존심, 삶, 무엇과도 바꿀 수 없는 하나”로 정의하며 외적 수단이 아닌 자아실현의 의미로 생각하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 일을 통해 자신과 타인을 들여다보고 그로 인해 ‘나’의 존재를 깨달으며 진정한 나를 찾기 위해 끊임없이 학습을 이룬다는 것을 확인하였다. 평생학습은 인간의 삶이 일어나는 모든 공간에서 성인학습자가 스스로 이끌어가는 모든 학습활동으로 볼 수 있다. 일터에서 성인들이 일으키는 자발적인 학습본능과 일의 의미를 되새겨가는 과정은 인간이 성장하는 모습을 보여주는 중요한 장면으로 이것이 어떤 평생교육적 의미를 지니고 있는지 탐색하였다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

영문 초록

This study looked at how the meaning of the work of people who chose their own unique work environment to do what they wanted to do was organized. Through cases where performing artists stayed in the arts, they explored the meaning of work and produced results. The research participants had in-depth interviews with six performers in their 20s and 30s who had more than five years of experience, and used qualitative case study methods for analysis. The meaning of the work of the participants in the study is With “My Discovery that Let Me Know What I Want,” and “The Fun and Development of Creation,” they thought of themselves as communicators who impart the value of art to others as well. It has also been shown that art is defined as “one that cannot be exchanged for self-respect, life or anything” and thinks of it as the meaning of self-realization, not as an external means. The results found in the meaning of performing artists work show that they look into themselves and others through their work, realize the existence of “me” and constantly learn to find me. Lifelong learning can be seen as all the learning activities that adult learners lead on their own in every space of human life. The process of remembering the spontaneous learning instincts and meaning of work that adult learners create at work is an important scene that shows us growing up.
