영문 초록

A wide variety of modalities has been used in the treatment of personality disorders. Many clinicians believe that psychoactive medications have a role in the treatment of personality disorders to decrease vulnerability to affective or cognitive decompansation, enhance capacity for pleasure, and normalize activation and dysregulation. But the available evidence for the effectiveness of drug treatment of personality disorder is meager and it is clear that large number of individuals with personality disorders are being medicated without any guidelines or definite indications. While the empirical study of medication in personality disorder patients is in its infancy, an effort to establish some broad principles of use have been tried to date. So the authors reviewed the recent major drug trials on the personality disorders and discussed the common problems facing during the drug treatment of personality disorders to provide clinical guidance on the drug treatment of personality disorders
