Analysis of the Impact and Heterogeneity of Tourism Economic Resilience on Tourism Ecological Efficiency

국문 초록

최근 수십 년간 중국 관광 산업의 급격한 성장으로 지역 생태계 압력이 심화되었으며, 경제 성장과 환경 보호 간 균형 문제가 대두되고 있다. 본 연구는 2005 년부터 2022 년까지 중국 30 개 성( 省 )을 대상으로 관광 경제 회복력(TER)과 관광 생태 효율성(TEE)의 상호작용을 분석하였다. TEE 는 Super-Slack-Based Measure(SBM) 모형을, TER 는 엔트로피 가중치법을 통해 산출하였다. Quantile GMM 분석 결과, TER 과 TEE 는 모두 상승 추세와 동부 고·서부 저의 공간적 분포를 보였으나, 상위 분위수에서 회복력이 높을수록 생태 효율성이 유의하게 저하되는 것으로 나타났다. 추가 패널 회귀분석에서는 지역 GDP 성장 및 도시화가 TEE 를 향상시키는 반면, 산업 규모 확대와 무역량 증가는 이를 저해 요인으로 작용함을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 경제 회복력 강화와 생태 보전을 동시에 고려한 지역 맞춤형 저영향 관광 정책 수립에 유용한 정책적 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

Tourism in China has expanded rapidly in recent decades, intensifying pressure on local ecosystems and raising questions about the balance between economic growth and environmental protection. This study investigates the dynamic interplay between tourism economic resilience (TER) and tourism ecological efficiency (TEE) across 30 Chinese provinces from 2005 to 2022. We compute TEE using a super-Slack-Based Measure model and derive TER via the entropy weight method. A quantile generalized method of moments analysis reveals that, although both TER and TEE exhibit upward trends and an east-high, west-low spatial pattern, higher resilience significantly suppresses efficiency at upper quantiles. Further panel regressions show that regional GDP growth and urbanization enhance TEE, whereas industrial expansion and trade volume undermine it. These findings underscore the need for region-tailored, low-impact tourism strategies that bolster resilience while safeguarding ecological performance.
