국문 초록

최근 몇 년간 ESG경영 활동이 매우 중요시되고 있는 추세이고 기업의 지속가능성을 평가하는 중요한 요소로 인식되고 있어서 투자자들은 기업의 ESG 성과를 그들의 투자 결정에 영향을 미치는 중요한 기준으로 삼고 있다. 특히 기후변화와 같은 글로벌 문제에 대응하는 기업의 노력이 강조되고 있으며, 이는 기업의 재무성과와도 연관성이 있다. 이러한 환경경영 활동은 단순히 규제적 요구를 충족시키는 것을 넘어서 기업의 혁신과 성장 전략의 핵심 요소로 자리 잡고 있다. 본 연구는 TCFD 권고안 발표 이후인 2018년도부터 2022년의 기간 동안 온실가스 목표관리제 또는 배출권거래제 대상인 기업 중에 지속가능경영보고서를 발간하는 기업을 대상으로 기후변화대응 환경경영활동(CCAS)이 기업재무성과(CFP)에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 외국인지분율이 기후변화대응 환경경영활동(CCAS)과 기업재무성과(CFP) 사이에서 매개하는지 확인하여 외국인 투자자의 역할을 분석했다. 기후변화대응 환경경영활동(CCAS)은 기업재무성과인 총자산이익률 (ROA), 자기자본이익률(ROE), 기업가치(TQ)와 정(+)의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 외국인지분율이 기후변화대응 환경경영활동(CCAS)과 총자산이익률(ROA) 및 자기자본이익률(ROE) 간의 관계를 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 외국인 투자자들이 기업의 기후변화대응 환경경영활동 성과를 평가하고 투자 결정에 반영하는 과정에서 중요한 역할을 한다는 것을 시사한다.

영문 초록

In recent years, ESG management activities have become increasingly important and are recognized as an important factor in evaluating a company's sustainability, and investors are using ESG performance as an important criterion to influence their investment decisions. Companies' efforts to address global issues such as climate change are increasingly emphasized and linked to their financial performance. These environmental management activities have gone beyond meeting regulatory requirements to become a key component of a company's innovation and growth strategy. This study analyzes the impact of Climate change response environmental management activities (CCAS) on Corporate financial performance (CFP) for firms subject to the GHG target management system or emissions trading system that publish sustainability reports during the period from 2018 to 2022, after the TCFD recommendations were issued, and examines the role of foreign investors by determining whether foreign ownership mediates the relationship between Climate change response environmental management activities(CCAS) and Corporate financial performance (CFP). Climate change response environmental management activities (CCAS) is positively related to the corporate financialperformance of Return on assets (ROA), Return on equity (ROE), and Corporate value (TQ), while foreign ownership partially mediates the relationship between Climate change response environmental management activities (CCAS) and Return on assets (ROA), as well as between Climate change response environmental management activities (CCAS) and Return on equity (ROE).
