기독교의 배타성과 포용성의 변증법적 관계

국문 초록

한국 재래종교와 기독교의 관계에 대한 토의에서, 재래종교에 대한 배타주의와 종교적 상대주의 내지 종교다원주의가 여전히 대립을 이루고 있다. 배타주의를 주장하는 보수측 신학자들과 상대주의 내지 다원주의를 주장하는 진보측 신학자들이 자신의 입장을 주장하는 것으로 그친다. 본 논문은 이러한 상황을 극복하기 위해, 먼저 타종교에 대해 포기할 수 없는 기독교의 배타적 진리를 성서적, 신학적 근거에서 밝힌다. 이와 동시에 타종교에 대해 포용적 입장을 취할 수밖에 없다는 점도 밝힌다. 곧 타종교에 대한 기독교의 필연적 배타성과 포용성의 근거가 성서에 주어져 있음을 밝히고, “배타성과 포용성의 변증법적 관계를 제의한다. 이변증법적 관계는 ”포용성 안에 있는 배타성“과 ”배타성 안에 있는 포용성“으로 요약된다. 여기서 종교적 상대주의와 다원주의는 고려 대상이 되지 않는다. 종교적 상대주의와 다원주의에서는 ”모든 것이 좋다!“(Every thing goes!)는 사고로 인해, 모든 종교가 평준화되어버리기 때문이다. 이에 본 논문은 종교들의 배타성과 포용성의 변증법적 관계를 통해 기독교와 타종교의 만남과 교통이 가능함을 밝히면서, 현대 세계의 위기 속에서 모든 종교들의 협동의 필요성을 강조한다.

영문 초록

In the theological interreligious discussions in Korea we find two radical viewpoints in rigorous contradiction, the radical exclusiveness to the traditional religions of Korea on the one hand, the religious relativism or pluralism on the other hand. The discussions between the conservative theologians, who depend the viewpoint of exclusiveness, and the progressive theologians, who asserts the religious relativism or pluralism, come to end with their own contradictional assertions without a compromise. In this situation of the interreligious discussions in Korea, the treatise finds in the Bible the theological grounds both viewpoints, that of the exclusiveness and inclusiveness of the Christian religion to the traditional religions of Korea, and suggests the “dialectical relationship of the exclusiveness and inclusiveness,” that is, “the exclusivity in inclusivity” and “inclusivity in exclusivity,” as the possibility of the compromise of the both theological contradictive viewpoints. The viewpoint of the religious relativism or pluralism is not acceptable, because it does not consider all differences of the religions sincerely, and the sincere interreligious dialogue becomes through it impossible. In conclusion the treatise asserts on the necessity of mutual communication and cooperation of religions in Korea faced by various problems of the korean society and the world today.
