남원 아영분지 가야정치체의 성장과 상호관계

국문 초록

본고는 남원 아영분지를 기반으로 성장한 단위정치체의 성장과 주변 정치체 간의 상호관계를 알아보고자 하였다. 아영분지에서 기원·성장하는 정치체의 모습을 담고 있는 남원 청계리-월산리-유곡리·두락리 고분군은 적어도 1세기 이상 지속된 중심고분군으로 정의할 수 있고, 물질문화의 변동과 함께 주변 정치체와의 상호관계도 논의할 수 있다. 가야정치체를 포함한 고대사회의 사회변동과 상호관계는 역동적이고 다변적인 속성을 내포하고 있으며, 동시에 고고자료를 통해 동적인 당시의 사회적 관계와 변화를 복원하려는 것은 지난(至難)한 작업이므로 선행적으로 지역적 수준의 문화 변천과정에 천착할 필요가 있다. 지금까지 남원 아영분지를 포함한 소위 대가야 문화권으로 설정된 지역은 사회 내부조직과 상호관계의 성질을 고령 지산동 고분군과 같은 위계화된 중심세력의 일방적인 영향력으로 설명한 부분이 적지 않다. 아영분지 일원의 집단처럼 특정 단위정치체의 기원과 사회발전을 설명하기 위해서는 사회 내부구조가 파악된 단위들 간의 관계망과 그 안에서 이루어지는 상호관계의 성질이 어떻게 변화되는지를 접근해 보는 것이 중요하다. 남원 월산리-유곡리·두락리 고분군은 5세기 후반 이후에 새로운 중심세력으로 등장하는 중심고분군으로서 후행형 중심고분군 성장모델을 적용할 수 있다. 청계리-월산리 고분군을 하나의 중심고분군으로 설정하더라도 5세기 중반을 기점으로 고총고분이 성장하기 때문에 후행형 성장모델에 해당하며, 특히 유곡리·두락리 고분군은 전형적이 후행형 성장모델의 중심고분군이다. 아영분지를 기반으로 특정 단위정치체가 기원하고 그 중심세력이 1세기 이상 지속되는 모습은 중심고분군 내 물질문화의 변동으로 확인할 수 있다. 특히 유곡리·두락리 고분군으로 중심고분군이 이동하기 이전까지 주변지대를 비롯한 백제·대가야 등 주변 강대국과의 교섭과 상호관계의 주체는 재지를 기반으로 출현한 아영분지 중심세력으로 추정할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this article was to investigate the interrelationship between the growth of a political body that grew based on the Namwon Ayeong Basin and the surrounding political body. The Cheonggye-ri-Walsan-Yugok-ri and Durak-ri tombs, which contain the appearance of a political body originating and growing in the Ayeong Basin, can be defined as a central ancient tombs that has lasted at least a century. Along with changes in material culture, interrelationships with surrounding political bodies can be discussed. Social changes and interrelationships in ancient society, including the Gaya political body, are dynamic and have various properties. Until now, many of the areas established as the so-called Daegaya culture, including the Namwon Ayeong Basin, have explained the nature of interrelationships with internal organizations in society through the unilateral influence of hierarchical central forces such as the Goryeong Jisan-dong Ancient Tombs. In order to explain the origin and social development of a particular political body, such as a group in the Ayeong Basin, it is important to understand the internal structure of society and to approach how the network of relations between them and the nature of interrelationships within them change. Wolsan-ri-Yugok-ri and Durak-ri tombs in Namwon are central ancient tombs that emerge as new central forces after the second half of the 5th century, and are the growth model of the trailing central high-guns. In particular, the Yugok-ri and Durak-ri tombs are typical central high-guns of the trailing growth model. The origin of a specific unit political body based on the sub-region and the fact that the central force persists for more than a century can be confirmed by changes in the material culture within the central ancient tombs. In particular, it can be assumed that the central forces of the Ayeong Basin are the main agents of negotiations and interrelationships with surrounding powers such as Baekje and Daegaya, as well as the surrounding areas, until the ccentral ancient tombs forces moved to the Yugok-ri and Durak-ri tombs.
