Political identity plays a crucial role in uniting social consensus, promoting national unity, and maintaining state stability. It is of great significance for building national cohesion and advancing national rejuvenation. Good governance performance enhances public recognition and praise of the governance system. To explore the mechanism through which governance performance affects political identity, this study uses data from the 2021 Chinese Social Survey (CSS) to empirically examine the dual-mediating role of political efficacy and government trust. The results indicate that governance performance not only directly influences political identity but also indirectly affects it through the mediating effects of political efficacy and government trust. This study reveals the mechanism by which governance performance enhances political identity by stimulating individuals’sense of political efficacy and increasing their trust in government. The findings provide theoretical and practical insights for improving governance performance and fostering political identity.

영문 초록

政治认同能够凝聚社会共识、促进民族团结、维护国家稳定，对形成民族合力、推进复兴伟业具有重大意义。良好的治理绩效能够增进公众对治理系统的认同和赞誉。为考察治理绩效对政治认同的作用机制，利用2021 年中国社会状况综合调查（Chinese Social Survey, CSS）数据，实证检验了政治效能感和政府信任在二者之间的双因子中介路径。研究发现，治理绩效不但直接影响政治认同，而且通过政治效能感和政府信任的中介效应间接影响政治认同。研究阐释了治理绩效通过激发民众的政治效能感、增强政府信任进而提升政治认同的作用机制，为优化治理绩效、培育政治认同提供了理论与实践启示。
