국문 초록

본 연구는 인공지능(AI) 기술이 학습 과정 전반에 깊이 관여하는 현대 교육 환경에서 교육의 핵심 이념인 자율성 개념이 겪는 존재론적 변형을 분석하고, 그 철학적 재구성 가능성을 탐색한다. 기존의 인본주의적 관점이나 기술 결정론적 관점만으로는 AI와 얽힌 인간 주체의 복합적 현실을 포착하기 어렵다는 문제의식 하에, 본 연구는 서구의 포스트 휴머니즘이 제시하는 관계적 존재론과 한국의 퇴계 이황(退溪 李滉)의 ‘경(敬)’ 사상이 함의하는 내면적 수양론 사이의 창조적 대화를 시도한다. 문헌 연구를 기반으로 비판적 담론분석과 철학적 해석학을 적용하여, AI 교육 환경에서 자율성이 ‘효율성 중심의 재정의’, ‘알고리즘적 매개’, ‘행위성의 재분배’를 통해 변형되고 있음을 밝혔다. 이러한 분석과 동서양 철학의 대화에 기초하여, 본 연구는 기술과의 관계 속에서 형성되는 ‘관계적-내면적 자율성(Relational-Internal Autonomy)’이라는 새로운 통합적 개념을 제안한다. 이 개념은 ‘수행적 중심성(Performative centrality)’을 축으로 하며, ‘메타 인지적 이중화(Meta cognitive doubling)’, ‘비판적 친밀성(Critical intimacy)’, ‘우회적 행위성(Detour agency)’이라는 세 가지 핵심 요소로 구성된다. 나아가 이 개념을 교육적으로 구현하기 위한 ‘알고리즘적 가시성’, ‘반성적 간극’, ‘대화적 설계’ 등의 교육 설계 원리와 ‘관계적 지식관’, ‘경계 횡단적 학습’, ‘실존적 성찰’ 등의 교육 과정적 함의를 도출하였다. 본 연구는 인공지능 시대 자율성에 대한 교육 철학적 재개념화를 통해, 첫째, 기술결정론과 전통적 인본주의의 이분법을 넘어서는 제3의 관점을 제시하고, 둘째, 동서양 교육철학(사상)의 생산적 대화 가능성을 탐색하며, 셋째, 한국 교육사상(퇴계)의 현대적 의의와 보편적 적용 가능성을 확장하는 데 기여하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the ontological transformation of autonomy, a core ideal of education, within contemporary educational environments deeply permeated by artificial intelligence (AI) and explores possibilities for its philosophical reconstruction. Recognizing the limitations of existing humanistic or techno- deterministic perspectives in capturing the complex reality of human subjectivity entangled with AI, this research attempts to form a creative dialogue between the relational ontology of Western posthumanism and the theory of internal cultivation from the “Gyeong (敬, mindfulness/reverence)” thought of Korean neo-Confucian scholar Toegye Yi Hwang. By combining literature research with critical discourse analysis and philosophical hermeneutics, the study reveals that autonomy in AI-infused educational settings is being transformed through “efficiency-centered redefinition,” “algorithmic mediation,” and “redistribution of agency.” Based on this analysis and the East-West philosophical dialogue, this paper proposes a new, integrative concept: “Relational-internal autonomy.” This concept is structured around “performative centrality” and comprises three key components: “metacognitive doubling,” “critical intimacy,” and “detour agency.” Furthermore, educational design principles such as “algorithmic visibility,” the “reflective gap,” and “dialogic design,” along with curricular implications such as “relational epistemology,” “boundary-crossing learning,” and “existential reflection,” are derived for educational implementation. By re-conceptualizing autonomy for the AI era, this study offers a third perspective that transcends the dichotomy between technological determinism and traditional humanism, explores the potential for a productive dialogue between Eastern and Western educational philosophies, and contributes to expanding the contemporary significance and universal applicability of Korean educational thought.
