국문 초록

본 연구는 항만산업의 기능적 분포와 경쟁력 구조를 다층적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 사업체 규모계수(BQ), 산업성장률(IG), 입지계수(LQ), 노동효율성(RLQ), 변이할당분석(SSA) 등을 활용하여 전국 17개 시·도의 항만산업 구조를 실증적으로 평가하였다. 분석 결과, 서울과 경기 등 일부 내륙지역은 항만시설이 없으나 전략기획·물류관리 기능이 집중된 기능 허브로 확인되었고, 경상북도와 충청남도 등은 지역 고유의 성장역량이 높은 지역으로 나타났다. 반면, 부산과 인천은 산업 기반은 강하나 성장성과 지역경쟁력이 낮게 평가되었다. 본 연구는 본사 소재지 기반 데이터의 한계를 인식하고, 기능적 분포 관점에서 항만산업의 구조와 발전전략을 제시함으로써, 지역별 맞춤형 정책 설계에 기초자료를 제공한다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the functional distribution and structural competitiveness of Korea’s port industry through a multi-layered empirical analysis. Utilizing indicators such as Business Scale Quotient (BQ), Industrial Growth Rate (IG), Location Quotient (LQ), Relative Labor Efficiency (RLQ), and Shift-Share Analysis (SSA), the study evaluates the industrial structure of 17 metropolitan and provincial regions. Results show that inland areas like Seoul and Gyeonggi function as strategic planning and logistics hubs despite lacking physical port infrastructure, while regions such as Gyeongsangbuk-do and Chungcheongnam-do demonstrate strong endogenous growth capacity. In contrast, Busan and Incheon exhibit strong industrial bases but limited growth and competitiveness. Recognizing the limitations of using corporate headquarters location as a proxy for industrial activity, this study interprets competitiveness through functional distribution and offers implications for regionally tailored port development strategies.
