국문 초록

범죄피해자는 사건 이후 다양한 정서적 어려움을 겪는다. 선행연구에서는 지역사회 결속력과 같은 지역사회 변인들이 개인의 정서적 어려움을 줄인다고 분석한다. 하지만, 범죄피해자가 느끼는 정서적 어려움에 있어 지역사회 결속력이 어떤 역할을 하는지에 대한 연구는 미비하다. 본 연구는 범죄피해 경험이 정서적 어려움에 미치는 영향을 탐구하고, 지역사회 결속력이 범죄피해 경험과 정서적 어려움 간의 관계를 조절하는지 분석하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 한국 형사·법무정책연구원에서 시행한 ｢전국범죄피해조사 2020｣자료를 사용하였으며, 분석 방법으로는 조절회귀분석을 활용하였다. 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인구학적 특성에 따른 주요 변수의 차이를 분석한 결과 범죄피해자의 정서적 어려움은 여성, 1인가구 일 경우 정서적 어려움이 더 심각한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 범죄피해자의 인구학적 특성과 범죄피해 경험이 정서적 어려움에 미치는 영향을 회귀분석한 결과 여자일수록, 1인 가구일수록 정서적 어려움이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 범죄피해 경험과 정서적 어려움 간의 관계에서 지역사회 결속력이 조절효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 범죄피해 경험이 많을수록 정서적 어려움 수준이 높으며, 이러한 범죄피해 경험의 영향을 지역사회 결속력이 완화하는 조절효과를 갖는 것이다. 분석결과를 바탕으로 여성 및 1인 가구의 심리 사회적 특성을 고려한 사후개입방향, 지역사회에 대한 안전감과 신뢰도 향상을 위한 주민 조직 방안, 통합적인 범죄피해 대응시스템을 위한 유관기관 연계체계 구축 등의 실천적·정책적 함의를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Vctims experience various emotional difficulties after incidents. In previous research on community solidarity and its relation to individual emotional difficulties, community factors, such as community solidarity, effectively contribute to alleviating emotional challenges. However, there is a significant lack of research on the role of community solidarity in the emotional difficulties among crime victims. The purpose of this study is to examine whether crime victimization affects emotional difficulties and to explore the role of community solidarity. For this, I used data from “The National Crime Victim Survey 2020” conducted by the Korean Institute of Criminology to conduct moderated multiple regression. The summary of results is as follows: First, emotional difficulties among victims varied by gender and household type. Second, there is a correlation between demographic characteristics; a positive correlation between emotional difficulties and gender, a negative correlation with an education level below middle school. A positive correlation was also found with crime victimization experience. Third, being female and a single-person household were associated with higher emotional difficulties. Finally, community solidarity had a moderating effect between crime victimization and emotional difficulties. This outcome indicated that the more crime victimization, the greater the level of emotional difficulties. Additionally, community solidarity has a moderating effect in alleviating the impact of crime victimization. Based on these outcomes, the study suggests policy and practice implications such as the provision of continuous individual and group counseling for women and single-person households, creation and distribution of crime response manuals, formation of community watch groups, operation of self-help groups for crime victims, promotion of victim support systems centered around police stations and courts, and the establishment of a system between crime victim support centers and local social welfare organizations.
