목적 본 연구는 키워드 네트워크 분석 방법을 통해 ‘학교 밖 청소년’을 주제로 한 국내 연구 동향을 살펴봄으로써 학교 밖 청소년 지원을 위한 연구적 방향을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 방법 이를 위하여 2004년부터 2024년 6월까지 한국연구재단 등재 학술지에 게재된 ‘학교 밖 청소년’ 관련 연구를 검색하여 총 300편을 분석 대상 논문으로 선정하고, 논문에 제시된 키워드를 중심으로 빈도 분석과 키워드 네트워크 분석을 시행하였다. 결과 첫째, ‘학교 밖 청소년’ 관련 연구는 2007년 1편을 시작으로, 2014년 학교 밖 청소년 지원에 관한 법률 제정 이후 꾸준히 증가하였으며 2020년 이후 급증하였다. 둘째, 키워드 출현 빈도는 ‘진로’가 가장 핵심적인 키워드로 나타났고, 이어 ‘중독’, ‘청소년 비행’, ‘사회적 낙인감’, ‘대안교육’이 주요 키워드로 도출되었다. 셋째, 중심성 분석 결과, 연결중심성이 높은 키워드로는 ‘진로’, ‘부모자녀관계’, ‘자아존중감’, ‘사회적 낙인감’, ‘사회적 지지’, ‘우울’, ‘정서조절’, ‘부모양육태도’, ‘청소년 비행’, ‘프로그램’으로 확인되었다. 결론 본 연구는 키워드 네트워크 분석을 통한 학교 밖 청소년 연구의 동향을 체계적 이해를 바탕으로, 향후 연구 방향과 정책적 시사점을 제시하였다. 이는 궁극적으로 학교 밖 청소년을 위한 포용적이고 지원적인 환경 조성에 기여할 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to explore research directions for supporting out-of-school youth by examining domestic research trends on the topic of ‘out-of-school youth’ through keyword network analysis. Methods To this end, we searched for studies on ‘out-of-school youth’ published in academic journals registered with the National Research Foundation of Korea from 2004 to 2024. Jun., selected a total of 300 papers as analysis subjects, and conducted frequency analysis and keyword network analysis centered on keywords presented in the papers. Results First, research on ‘out-of-school youth’ began with the first article in 2007, and has steadily increased since the enactment of the Act on Support for Out-of-School Youth in 2014, and has rapidly increased since 2020. Second, in terms of keyword appearance frequency, ‘career’ was the most important keyword, followed by ‘addiction’, ‘juvenile delinquency’, ‘social stigma’, and ‘alternative education’. Third, as a result of centrality analysis, keywords with high degree of connection centrality were identified as ‘career’, ‘parent-child relationship’, ‘self-esteem’, ‘social stigma’, ‘social support’, ‘depression’, ‘emotional regulation’, ‘parental parenting attitude’, ‘juvenile delinquency’, and ‘program’. Conclusions This study systematically understands the trends of out-of-school youth research through keyword network analysis, and suggests future research directions and policy implications. This will ultimately contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for out-of-school youth.
