국문 초록

The birth of the first Chinese translation of the Communist Manifesto was of great benefit to the development process of the Chinese revolution. Combining the background of the times with the process of Chen Wangdao’s first translation, we can see the spirit of the translator shining in him. From a narrow perspective, the spirit of the translator refers to the spiritual power embedded in Chen Wangdao’s translation behaviour at the individual level, while from a broad perspective, the spirit of the translator is actually nurtured in the closed loop of collectivism, in the proper handling of the attributes of the individual and the collective, the inevitable and the accidental. At the same time, the spirit of the translator demonstrated its unique value in the revolutionary era, contributing to the release of the first Chinese translation, which helped many revolutionary youths to gradually build up a firm belief in Marxism, grow up to be Marxists, and accelerated the establishment of the Communist Party of China (CPC). In the face of the contemporary demands for common prosperity in spiritual life, the spirit of the translator contains brand-new possibilities. In order to satisfy the needs of honouring national heroes, enriching the world of spiritual civilization of the general public, and inspiring those who come after us, especially young people, we should strive to give full play to the spirit of the translator’s role in expanding national horizons, renouncing isolation, bringing about collaboration and symbiosis, fostering the spirit of struggle, being bold enough to fight and adept at it, and demonstrating the contemporary value of national self-confidence and cultural self-confidence. 영문 초록

《共产党宣言》第一个中文全译本的诞生对中国革命发展进程有着不菲的裨益，结合时代背景与陈望道的首译过程，我们能够看到其身上闪烁的译者精神。以狭义视角来看，译者精神指的陈望道个人层面翻译行为蕴含的精神力量，而从广义视角而言，译者精神实则是在集体主义的闭环中，在个体与集体，必然与偶然两对属性的妥善处理中孕育而成的。同时，译者精神在革命年代彰显了自身的独特价值，其促成了第一个中文首译本的问世，以此帮助许多革命青年逐渐树立对马克思主义的坚定信仰，成长为马克思主义者并加快催化中国共产党组织的成立。面对当下精神生活共同富裕的时代要求，译者精神又蕴含着全新的可能，为了满足缅怀民族英雄、丰富广大人民群众精神文明世界、激励后来者，尤其是青年群体等需要，要努力发挥译者精神在拓展民族视野，摈弃孤立，带来协作与共生，孕育斗争精神，敢于斗争善于斗争，彰显民族自信与文化自信的当代价值。
