국문 초록

본 연구는 메타버스를 활용한 드라마 콘텐츠의 사례를 통해서 현재 메타버스 기술이 드라마 콘텐츠에서 어떻게 활용되고 있는지 알아보고, 이를 한류 비즈니스 전략과 연결해서 살펴보고자 한다. 엔터테인먼트 분야는 코로나로 인해 활동에 큰 제약이 있었고, 비대면 활동의 필요성 증가로 인공지능 기술을 활용한 다양한 방법을 활성화했다. 특히, 인공지능이 적용된 기술이 발전함에 따라 4차 산업혁명의 핵심 기술 중 하나인 메타버스를 활용한 콘텐츠 제작 사례가 증가하였다. 이같은 흐름 속에 영화, 음악, 게임 등 다양한 엔터테인먼트 분야에서 메타버스 사례가 나오고 있지만, 드라마에서 활용한 사례는 드물었다. 이에, 본 연구는 드라마 콘텐츠에서 메타버스를 활용한 사례를 분석하고, 이를 한류 비즈니스의 확장과 지속가능성을 위한 전략 개발에 사용하고자 드라마 <환혼>과 <만약의 땅>을 선정했다. 두 드라마를 통해서 메타버스가 어떠한 방식으로 활용되었는지 드라마 제작 단계별로 구분하여 비교 · 분석하였고, 한류 비즈니스 전략과의 연관성을 분석하여 시사점을 도출하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 디지털 콘텐츠가 메타버스 방식을 통해 4차 산업의 핵심 기술과 어떻게 융합 · 적용되는지 보여주며, 이러한 공간과 기술의 진화를 기반으로, 글로벌 시장에 진출하고자 하는 한국 콘텐츠 기업의 글로벌 (초국적 )전략 개발에 의미있는 문화적, 비즈니스 인사이트를 줄 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study decisively examines the current utilization of metaverse technology in drama content, highlighting specific cases that showcase its application while establishing a strong connection with Hallyu business strategies. The entertainment industry has faced substantial restrictions due to COVID-19, which has amplified the demand for non-face-to-face interactions and accelerated the implementation of various artificial intelligence technologies. This evolution has led to a significant rise in content production that harnesses metaverse technology, a cornerstone of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. While the entertainment sectors of movies, music, and games have effectively embraced metaverse applications, its implementation in dramas has been notably limited. Therefore, this study analyzes the dramas and to investigate how metaverse technology is employed in drama content and to formulate robust strategies for the growth and sustainability of Hallyu businesses. The comparative analysis of these two dramas allows us to explore the integration of metaverse technology at various production stages and its correlation with effective Hallyu business strategies. Therefore, this study powerfully illustrates the fusion of digital content with the essential technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution through the metaverse. Given the evolution of this space and technology, meaningful cultural and business insights can be provided for developing global (transnational) strategies by Korean content companies aiming to reach the global market.
