코로나19 시기 일본전통시가의 ‘좌(座)’의 위기와 대응 : 『호스트 만요슈(ホスト万葉集)』(2020)를 중심으로

국문 초록

2019년 코로나19의 발병과 유행은 우리의 일상적인 삶을 통제하며 그동안 우리가 당연하게 누려왔던 것들을 비일상적인 것으로 뒤바꿔 놓았는데 일본 전통 시가도 예외는 아니었다. 특히 일본 전통 시가는 그 창작 공간인 ‘좌’를 위협받는 상황에 놓였었다. 이러한 ‘좌’의 부재라는 위기는 구회, 가회는 물론 일본 전통 시가의 모든 모임과 행사를 불가능하게 할 것이라고 예상되었다. 그러나 오프라인 ‘좌’는 빠르게 온라인 ‘좌’로 전환되었고 그러한 새로운 창작 환경은 오프라인 ‘좌’의 공간적인 부재를 대체해 주었다. 이러한 온라인 ‘좌’의 등장은 다른 문학 장르에서는 찾아볼 수 없는 문학이 재난이라는 위기에 능동적으로 대응한 사례라 할 수 있다. 온라인 ‘좌’는 오프라인 ‘좌’를 완벽하게 대체할 수 없는 한계점을 분명 가지고 있다. 그러나 코로나19 종식이 선언되고 어느 정도 우리가 일상적인 삶으로 돌아온 현재에도 온라인 ‘좌’는 오프라인 ‘좌’와 함께 일본 전통 시가의 장으로 기능하고 있다. 그런 의미에서 코로나19는 일본 전통 시가의 ‘좌’에 오프라인과 온라인이라는 이중구조의 공간적 확장을 가져왔다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Unlike natural disasters, COVID-19 is a social disaster that is popular around the world, and its impact is not limited to a specific region or a specific group. The reality is that we have all experienced COVID-19 as parties and are still not free from the risk of infectious diseases. COVID-19 controls our lives and has turned the daily lives we have enjoyed for granted into extraordinary ones, and the case of traditional Japanese cities was no exception. In particular, as face-to-face meetings were banned, all meetings and events in traditional Japanese poets as well as regular meetings and private meetings, which were held regularly, were postponed or suspended. In this way, in the absence of creative spaces for traditional Japanese poets, it was online ‘座(Jwa)’ that emerged as a new alternative. The rise of online ‘Jwa’ during the COVID-19 period was no different from the active response of literature to the crisis of disaster. In particular, Host Manyoshu, which contains tankas from the ‘Online tanka poetry meeting’ during the COVID-19 period, proved the possibility that traditional Japanese poets can exist with only online ‘座’. In this sense, COVID-19 can be said to have brought about a spatial expansion of the dual structure of offline and online, not a reduction of the ‘座’ of traditional Japanese poets.
