풍수지리의 사상적 근원 - 하도낙서, 음양오행을 중심으로

국문 초록

고대로부터 인간은 본능적으로 자연의 六氣라 불리는 風·寒·署·濕·燥·熱을 피하고 타인이나 동물의 침입으로부터 보호받고 안락한 공간에서 거주하고자 하였고, 인간이 삶을 다하고 죽을 때 영면할 땅을 선정하는 것을 목적으로 風水地理의 이론체계를 인간이 끊임없이 연구하여 발전시켜왔다. 그것이 차차 전문화되고 논리적으로 부합하여 여러 학설과 경험을 접목시켜 하나의 체계가 있고 기초가 성립되어 있는 풍수지리 이론으로 발전시킨 토대는 陰陽五行論이다. 즉 풍수지리는 음양오행론을 기초로 산이나 건물과 같은 형상화된 공간이 가지고 있는 氣가 坐向과 시간의 흐름에 따라 인간에게 어떤 영향을 줄 수 있는가를 연구하는 학문이다. 풍수지리는 風과 水와 地의 순환궤도와 量을 羅經이라는 도구를 사용하여 측정한 다음 이를 河圖·洛書·方圓과 陰陽五行의 이치에 易의 八卦·九星·八門·卦 法則에 따라 판단하여 穴을 찾고, 좋은 坐向을 선택하는 방법론이다. 따라서 풍수지리에서 가장 근본적인 음양오행의 법칙과 易의 理致를 숙지를 해야만 풍수지리를 이해할 것이다. 그러나 풍수지리는 氣運을 대상으로 하는 학문이기 때문에 난해한 부분이 있으며, 기운을 발하는 기간이 길어 체계적인 이론을 증명하는데 오랜시간과 학술적 노력이 요구된다. 때문에 풍수지리가 비과학적이라는 비판을 받아온 이유가 여기에 있다. 그러나 풍수지리가 비과학적이라고 비판하려면 음양오행과 역의 이치를 부정해야만 한다. 그러므로 풍수지리 이론과 실제에는 陰陽과 五行·河圖·洛書·方圓의 이치에 易의 八卦·九星·八門·卦 등이 혼합되어 있고 동양의 모든 술수가 비교적 종합되어 있어 연구가 그리 단순하지 않다. 따라서 본 연구는 풍수지리의 가장 근간이 되는 하도·낙서와 음양오행의 이치를 풍수지리 이론체계와 접목을 시켜 연구해 보기로 하였다.

영문 초록

Since ancient times, a man instinctively tried to avoid the six energies, which means wind·coldness·hotness·humidity·dryness·heat, prevent from attack of others or animals, reside a comfortable house, choose a resting place where he dies and develop theoretical systems of Feng-Shui and geography. The theory of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements made it develop to a organized system by integrating many doctrines and experiences. That is to say, Feng-Shui and geography is based on Yin-Yang and the Five Elements for the fact that Qi, which formed spaces such as mountains or buildings have, has an influence on a man from the flow of prospect and time. Feng-Shui and geography is a way to use circulations and quantities of wind, water and earth with a compass, find a propitious spot from a view of Palgwae·Guseong·Ipmun·Gwae of the Changes on the basis of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements and Hado·Nakseo·Bangwon and select a reasonable prospect. It is possible that learning theories of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements and the Changes about Feng-Shui and geography could understand Feng-Shui and geography. However, Qi-Un is a target of Feng-Shui and geography and very difficult to know and a long time and academic efforts are required to prove a systematic theory due to a long time for raising Qi-Un. That was why Feng-Shui and geography were non-scientific. If someone blames Feng-Shui and geography for it, he has to deny the reasons of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements and the Changes. The theoretical and practical contents of Feng-Shui and geography combine Palgwae·Guseong·Ipmun·Gwae of the Changes into Yin-Yang and the Five Elements and Hado·Nakseo·Bangwon and contains every oriental tricks so that it is difficult to learn. This study was set to integrate Hado·Nakseo and Yin-Yang and the Five Elements which are the most fundamental of Feng-Shui and geography into many theoretical systems.
