국문 초록

This study conducts a comparative analysis of water management policies and plans in California and Korea, focusing on sustainable water management in response to climate change-induced natural disasters. Both regions have established integrated water management systems at the watershed level, examining the evolution of policies centered around water resource status, challenges, and responses. Correlation analysis reveals significant relationships between irrigated area and agricultural water use, and between population and urban water use in California. In Korea, strong correlations were found between watershed area and total water use, and between population and domestic water use. Additionally, the linkage analysis of challenges and response plans shows that California has developed diverse measures for groundwater issues, flood and drought response, while Korea addresses water pollution, flood and drought challenges, and ecosystem restoration through watershed-specific strategies.
