국문 초록

이 연구는 경남 진주의 다실과 차인회를 중심으로 차(茶)문화의 다차원적 가치를 심층적으로 분석함으로써, 전통 차문화가 현대 사회에서 어떻게 재조명되고 발전할 수 있는지를 탐구하는 데 중요한 의미를 가진다. 특히, 부르디외의 문화자본 이론을 중심으로 다실과 차인회가 갖는 문화적 자본의 성격을 고찰하였다. 또한, 팬데믹 이후 현대인들이 추구하는 건강과 웰빙에 대한 관심의 증가로 다실은 단순히 음료 판매의 공간을 넘어 사회적 문화적 공간의 기능을 하는 문화교류의 성격을 갖는 것을 알 수 있다. 이는 진주의 차문화가 지역의 경제에 기인하는 관광 상품으로 발전시킬 수 있는 잠재적 가능성을 보여준다. 이를 통해 지역 경제 활성화와 문화적 확장의 지속 가능성을 동시에 추구할 수 있음을 확인했다. 즉, 다실과 차인회는 지역의 사회적 자본을 강화하는 수단이 될 수 있음을 시사하고 있는 것이다. 문화자본 이론을 근거로 한 지역의 문화에 대한 고찰은 다양한 시각으로 지역 문화를 이해함에 있어 학술적 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study explores the multifaceted value of tea culture in Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do, with a focus on its revitalization in contemporary society. By applying cultural capital theory, this research illustrates that tea rooms and tea societies not only serve as custodians of tradition but also play a pivotal role in reinforcing cultural heritage, social cohesion, and communal identity within local contexts. Furthermore, the study underscores the growing significance of tea rooms as wellness spaces in the post-pandemic era, suggesting that traditional tea culture holds considerable potential as a cultural and economic asset in modern society. The findings highlight the strategic potential of integrating tea culture into regional tourism initiatives, thereby contributing to local economic revitalization and the sustainability of cultural practices, while providing new perspectives on the contemporary application and preservation of traditional culture.
