국문 초록

이 연구는 일제 문화정치 초기 1921년에 간행된 『百牧講演』과 1922년에 출간된 『宗敎界諸名士講演集』에 나타난 민족부흥에 관한 담론을 분석하려는 데 목적을 두었다. 이 두 권의 문헌들은 한국에 기독교가 전래된 이래 최초로 발행된 대중성을 갖춘 설교집들이다. 민족부흥 담론과 관련하여 이 설교집들에 나타난 가장 두드러진 논점들은 ‘복음화를 통한 민족부흥 모색’과 ‘성화를 통한 민족부흥 모색’으로 정리할 수 있다. 이들 문헌에 나타난 민족부흥 개념과 관련된 의미심장한 관점들을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 길선주의 “平和의 曙(새벽)”, 이병주의 “上帝(하나님)가 世上을 愛신다”, 그리고 이익모의 “隅(모퉁이)의 首石(머릿돌)”을 중심으로 ‘복음화를 통한 민족부흥 모색’ 차원의 과업을 고찰했다. 이들은 하나님의 주권적 통치, 하나님께서 베푸시는 일반은총과 특별은총, 그리고 민족복음화의 과업에 대해 논했다. 둘째, 이기풍의 “新造의 人(새 사람)”, 최병헌의 “生死一判”, 그리고 김상준의 “秋收(추수)의 雨를 빌나”를 중심으로 ‘성화를 통한 민족부흥 모색’ 차원의 과업을 살폈다. 이들은 민족의 성화, 죄악의 철저한 근절(根絶), 그리고 재림 지향적 삶의 과업을 논했다. 셋째, 본 논문에서 분석한 핵심적인 담론들을 바탕으로 현하 한국 그리스도인들에게 북한 선교를 실천하기 위한 체계적인 준비와 대책, 한국 그리스도인들이 추구해야 할 성화의 과업 등 시사성 있는 과제들을 제언했다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze the discourse of national revival in Sermons by One Hundred Pastors & Teachers(1921) and Jonggyogyeoi Jemyeongsa Gangyeonjip(1922) in the early era of Japanese cultural policy. These two literatures are the first public sermon books published since Christianity was introduced to Korea. The most prominent points about national revival’ in these books are ‘the search for national revival through evangelization’ and ‘the search for national revival through sanctification’. The significant viewpoints of national revival in these two books could be summarized as follows. Firstly, the author concentrates on ‘the search for national revival through evangelization’, focusing on Seon-Ju Gil’s “Dawn of Peace”, Byeong-Ju Lee’s “God Loves the World”, and Ik-Mo Lee’s “Corner Capstone”. They emphasized the tasks of God’s sovereignity, God’s general grace and God’s special grace, and national evangelization. Secondly, the author deals with ‘the search for national revival through sanctification’, focusing on Gi-Pung Lee’s “New Man”, Byeong-Heon Choi’s “Judgment of Life and Death”, and Sang-Jun Kim’s “Pray for Autumn Rain for Harvest”. They discussed the tasks of the national sanctification, thorough eradication of sin, and Christian life toward the second coming. Thirdly, the author proposes timely tasks to today’s Korean Christians on the basis of the core discourses of this study such as the systematic preparation and alternative for North Korea Mission, the duty of sanctification of the Korean Christians, and so on.
