국문 초록

Steroid-responsive meningitis-arteritis (SRMA) is a non-infectious, immunemediated disease primarily affecting medium to large dog breeds. This case report describes the diagnosis and management of SRMA in a small breed dog. A 4.4 kg, mixed-breed, castrated male dog presented with hyperesthesia in the thoracolumbar spine and fever. The blood profiles showed no abnormalities except for the elevated CRP levels, and MRI findings were unremarkable. Based on the patient’s age, clinical symptoms and findings, SRMA was presumptively diagnosed. Treatment with immunosuppressive doses of prednisolone resulted in clinical improvement within 2 days. Six months post-treatment, the dog remains symptom-free. From this case report, we suggest the importance of recognizing SRMA in small breeds and recommend further research into appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for such cases.
