국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 기혼남녀의 ‘이혼 시 자녀의 친권과 양육권’ 인식에 관한 전반적 실태를 조사하고 나아가 조사대상자의 특성에 따라 친권․양육권 인식에 차이가 있는가를 분석하는 것이다. 연구방법은 조사연구로, 연구대상은 부산에 거주하고 있는, 그리고 막내 자녀가 만 20세미만인 기혼 남녀 440명이었고 설문지를 사용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모가 이혼 시 결정해야 되는 친권과 양육권 선택에 대한 기혼 남녀의 인식은 친권은 ‘공동친권’을 선호하였으며, 양육권은 ‘단독양육권’을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 기혼남녀의 친권 선택의 인식은 자녀관, 양육태도, 성별, 이혼경험, 자녀의 주 양육자 변인에서 통계적으로 유의미한(p<.05) 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 기혼남녀의 자녀관련 변수와 인구사회학적 특성에 따른 양육권 선택의 인식에 대한 차이를 알아본 결과, 자녀관, 양육태도, 성별, 교육수준, 자녀의 주양육자, 사회계층이 통계적으로 유의미한 수준에서 차이가 있는 것으로 나타나, 이들이 양육권 선택의 인식에 영향을 미치는 것으로 보인다. 이 연구는 이혼상담 시, 자녀의 복리를 위한 자료로 의미 있게 사용될 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to understand the actual conditions related to choices pertaining to parental rights and child custody, and to investigate the difference in parent’s perceptions about these choices in consideration of the individuality of married men and women. The study utilized quantitative research with surveys used to gather data, and the participants were 440 married men and women living in Busan with the youngest child not exceeding twenty years of age. The main findings are as follows: The results of the investigation of married men and married women’s preferences about parental rights and child custody showed that joint custody and independent custody were preferred respectively. We found that the parent's personality/psychological fitness and their children’s intentions were crucial factors to be considered when parental rights and child custody are determined. Among the anticipated difficulties regarding parental rights and child custody decisions, the cost burden of child rearing and education was predicted to be the greatest challenge for parents, along with the psychological and emotional difficulties that the children may encounter. Concerning the perception of child custody choices, the view of the children, parenting attitudes, the gender of the children, their primary care-giver, and the social class showed significant differences. This study provides meaningful information for decision-making regarding choices of parental right and child custody considering the welfare of the child.
