국문 초록

본 연구는 결혼이민자여성의 우울증에 영향을 미치는 요인을 살펴보고, 사회적 지지가 문화적응 스트레스와 우울과의 관계에서 매개효과와 완충효과를 나타내는지를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 조사 대상자는 경기지역의 다문화관련 기관 10개를 이용하고 있는 결혼이민자 여성 203명을 대상으로 연구하였다. 본 연구 결과를 살펴보면, 문화적응 스트레스가 높을수록 우울증에 부정적인 영향을 주었고, 사회적 지지와 우울간의 관계는 부의 관계로 나타났다. 사회적 지지의 매개효과와 완충효과를 검증하기 위하여 다중회귀기법과 회귀기법을 사용하였다. 본 연구에서는 사회적 지지가 문화적응 스트레스와 우울과의 관계에서 매개효과를 하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 문화적응스트레스와 우울과의 관계에서도 사회적 지지는 문화적응 스트레스와 상호작용하여 완충효과가 나타났다. 이는 사회적 지지 수준에 높을수록 문화적응 스트레스가 우울에 미치는 영향력 정도가 감소한다고 볼 수 있다. 또한 사회적 지지는 문화적응 스트레스가 높은 결혼이민자 여성에게 우울증 경감에 효과적이라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 결과에 근거하여 결혼이민자 여성들의 우울의 완화를 위한 사회복지 개입 전략을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This research study examined various factors associated with depressive symptoms. The sample of this research study was drawn from 10 social welfare centers for marriage-based immigrant women in Kyeonggi-do, and a total of 203 participants completed the survey. The findings of this research study showed that increased acculturative stress is associated with a high level of depression, and a higher perceived social support rate is associated with a low level of depression. This study also analyzed the effect of acculturative stress on depression by testing whether social support moderates or mediates this relationship. To examine whether social support could moderate or mediate the effects of acculturative stress on depression, hierarchical multiple regression and a series of regression analyses were conducted. The results of regression analysis showed a significant relationship between acculturative stress and depression that was mediated by perceived social support. Also, there was evidence in favor of the moderating role. Social support influenced the appraisals of stressful situations, which buffers the effect of acculturative stress on depression. Thus, social support is most beneficial in the presence of high levels of acculturative stress. Implications for the findings are discussed.
