국문 초록

This study aimed to verify the effectiveness of humanities program for immigrant women’s spouses. For this purpose, the current study assigned 10 immigrant women’s spouses from ‘A’ center located in Kyunggi-Do province as an experimental group, whereas 10 others immigrant women’s husbands were controlled in similar condition from ‘B’ center located in Kyunggi-Do province. The humanities programs were provided to the experimental group. The program was conducted for 12 sessions during 12 weeks from June to September, 2013. Marital Satisfaction Scale and Family Adaptability and Family Cohesion Evaluation Scale: FACES were used in the pre and post analysis along with in-depth interviews and observations. The effect of the program was verified by the non-parametric testing methods, Mann Whitney U test and Wilcoxon Matched-pairs Singled-ranks test. The main findings of the study are as follow. Marital Satisfaction, Family Adaptability and Cohesion level of the immigrant women’s spouses from the experimental group significantly increased. The result of this study is important in verifying the effectiveness of humanities programs for immigrant women’s spouses in order to prepare effective intervention strategies.
