국문 초록
Zhaoshutun is a Dai folk narrative poem, originated from the Dai Buddhist canon Beiyeijing, which is a Buddhist popular story. Zhaoshutun was firstly compiled and published in 1956, and has been reprinted many times in the following decades, and has been adapted into various art forms such as movies, stage plays, and comic strips, etc. Among them, Cheng Shifa, a famous Southern School painter, created a comic strip with the theme of Zhaoshutun in English, German, French, and Japanese. Among them, the famous Southern School painter Cheng Shifa’s comic strips based on the theme of Zhaoshutun have been published in English, German, French, Japanese and other languages. The influence and wide circulation of Zhaoshutun in the international arena made it a model for the hypertext translation of China’s ethnic minority canonical books. Take the comic strip Princess Peacock published by Foreign Languages Publishing House in 1961 as an example, its translation process involves the conversion of tangible symbols and intangible symbols. This paper analyzes the three modes of symbols conversion in the English translation of Zhaoshutun from the perspective of translation semiotics, and explores the revelation of this mode to the foreign translation of China’s national canonical books, hoping to provide reference to the more outstanding national canonical books going out of the country and into the world. It is expected to provide reference for more excellent national canonical works to go out of China and to the world.
영문 초록
《召树屯》是一部傣族民间叙事长诗,源于傣族佛教典籍《贝叶经》,是一部佛教通俗故事,《召树屯》于1956 年第一次整理出版,在之后的几十年间又经历了多次再版,并且还被改编为电影、舞台剧、连环画等多种艺术形式。其中,著名南派画家程十发以《召树屯》为题材创作的连环画还出版了英语、德语、法语、日语等多语种版本。《召树屯》在国际上的影响和流传之广,成为了我国少数民族典籍超文本译介的典范。以外文出版社1961 出版的连环画《孔雀公主》为例,其译介过程中就涉及了有形符号与无形符号的转换,本文从翻译符号学的角度出发,分析《召树屯》连环画英译本中的三种符号转换模式,探讨这一模式对我国民族典籍对外译介的启示,期望为更多优秀的民族典籍作品走出国门、走向世界提供借鉴。
