영문 초록

The characteristics of tea drinking custom in Chosun dynasty is not only used as a favorite beverage but also used as a medicine, like these, phenomenon that the custom used medicinally is showed up in whole Chosun dynasty. The reason why tea drinking custom was prevalent as medicine is tea has the medicinally effect which can be used as a medicine, and because of these reason, made people to use it as an Hyangyak(鄕藥) that produced in Chosun nationally. ≪Donguibogam(東醫寶鑑)≫ is a book which is for the poor people who are having trouble with diseases to use an Hyangyak easier. So, we can see that it was used by many ways to cure the diseases, because ≪ Donguibogam≫ was written by many experiences and traditional private prescriptions background. Therefore, the use of tea by looking through the ≪Donguibogam≫, can be understood more clearly that there was a tea drinking custom which used it as a medicine.
