後百濟와 高麗의 吳越國 交流 硏究와 爭點

국문 초록

후삼국시대 한반도 정치세력의 오월국과의 교류에 대한 지금까지의 연구는 후백제 일변도로 진행되어 왔다. 그러면 후백제가 오월국과의 교류에서 機先을 잡을 수 있었던 요인을 지금까지의 연구에서는 한반도 서남부 지역을 근거지로 한 후백제와 중국 동부 연안을 끼고 있는 오월국과의 지리적 관계에서 찾았다. 그러나 이 보다는 진훤이 신라군 비장으로 승평항인 순천만과 광양만에 屯營했던데서 실마리를 찾을 수 있었다. 오월국 건국 이전 진훤과 전류와의 교류를 일괄 소급시켜 국가적 교류로 기록한 사실을 구명했다. 지금까지의 연구를 통해 후삼국시대에 오월국과 교류했던 항로는 사단항로로 밝혀졌다. 이때 이용되었던 항구 가운데 강주 덕안포의 경우는 전통적인 항구인 섬진강 하구의 하동 다사진으로 추정되는 성과가 따랐다. 그리고 진주 촉석루 근처에서 출토된 오월국의 '보정' 명 연호가 양각된 기와를 통해 양국 관계의 유착이 다시금 포착되었다. 935년 왕위계승과 관련한 신검 정변으로 인해 반신검계 내지 친금강계 호족들이 오월국으로 피신한 사실을 새롭게 밝힐 수 있었다. 후백제는 오월국을 통해 선진 문물을 습득하였다는 사실도 새롭게 확인된 성과이다. 가령 후백제는 오월국을 통해 청자 제작 기술을 받아들였다고 한다. 이는 우리 나라 청자 역사의 효시라는 점에서 의미가 지대하다. 불교 사상과 관련해서는 후백제와 고려 모두 오월국의 天台敎法을 전수받았다. 이와 관련해 천안 지역 절터에서 확인된 보협인석탑에 대해 건립이나 중국에서 반입해서 건립했을 가능성을 모두 타진해 볼 수 있다. 지금까지 살펴 본 후백제와 고려의 오월국과의 교류는 정치 뿐 아니라 불교 사상을 비롯한 문화 전반과 경제 분야까지도 활발하게 이어졌음이 확인된다. 앞으로의 과제는 오월국이 후백제와 긴밀한 관계를 유지한 이유를 구명하는 작업이다.

영문 초록

Interchanges study between Kingdom of Wúyuè and political power groups of the Korean Peninsula in the Later Three Kingdoms period has been absolutely for Later Baekje until now. So, researchers could find the reason why Later Baekje had been able to get the start of interchanges with Wúyuè. Until now, the reason was their geographic relationship.Later Baekje established a base in southwest area of the peninsula and Wúyuè was located in the east coast of China. But I could find a clue in that Jinhwon(甄萱) had stationed in Seungpyeonghang Port(昇平港), now in Suncheonman Bay and Gwangyang Bay, as an advisor of Silla troops. It was revealed that exchanges between Jinhwon and Qian Liu before building Kingdom of Wúyuè had recorded retroactively as national interchanges. In the view of study so far achieved, the seaway for interchanges with Wúyuè turned out to be a crossing seaway. Among the ports used, Gangju Deokanpo was presumed to be Hadong Dasajin of the mouth of Seomjin River, which is a traditional port. And a roof tile embassed with ‘寶正’, era name of Wúyuè, was found near Chok-seok Pavilion in Jin-ju. It shows a close relationships between two nations. A new fact that the powerful family related to Prince Geumgang or against Shingum due to his political upheaval for succession to the throne in 935 has come to light. It was newly discovered that Later Baekje had adopted advanced civilization through Wúyuè. Later Baekje absorbed production techniques such as celadon. It has great significance in terms of the origin of Korean celadon history. Both Later Baekje and Goryeo inherited Tiantai Teachings(天台敎法) from Wúyuè. According to it, I could sound out the two possibilities of Stone Dhatu-Karanda Stupa, discovered in the temple site in Cheonan, being constructed or carried from China and later constructed in the country. A review of Later Baekje and Goryeo’s past interchanges with Wúyuè reveals that there were vigorous exchanges of Buddhism, culture, and economics not limiting to politics. The task is to study the reason why Wúyuè had maintained close relations with Later Baekje.
