영문 초록

This study attempted to help beauty industry workers reduce their physical burden which is directly related with job stress. For this, a survey was performed against cosmetologists who have provided services for at least one (1) year, and the results found the followings: When asked what has made them uncomfortable at work, ‘use of wired electronic devices’ was most responded with 39%. When asked what problems they face in using such devices, ‘tripped over the power cord’ was the highest with 50%. To improve working environments, this study developed a power cord-holding device based on beauty industry workers’ voices. The power cord-holding arm band is designed to prevent the power cord from sagging by fixing it to a user’s arm. This power cord holder is comprised of an arm band and a cable-holding unit. According to a survey on users’ satisfaction with the assistant device, high satisfaction (‘very satisfied (43%)’, ‘satisfied (43%)’) was responded. The above results confirmed that a power cord-holding device is effective in reducing inconvenience and fatigue at work for beauty industry workers. It is anticipated that the effectiveness of such power cord-holding device would be tracked after a long use.
