영문 초록

The title of a story, book, newspaper, poem, and any writing or text has an important function in its universal meaning. The title is a window to better understand, predict and comprehend the text, and sometimes the text creator decides to use it to confuse his audience. This research has been done to answer the question, what is the function of the titles in the short stories of the book The Wind Takes Women ? What is the relationship between stories’ titles and texts, and what role does this relationship play in the quality of the reader s reading? This collection contains fifteen short stories. By examining the titles of the stories as a context and a part of the story, we realize that the titles have been selected according to their content and prepare the reader to enter the story. In some stories, the title gives an idea that may be proven in the story or the audience may encounter something different from their initial perception and prediction.
