Since Hornstein (1999) presented the movement theory of PRO, it has been subject to much debate whether movement is involved in the control construction. Recognizing that Hornstein s (1999) analysis may provide a noble insight into the nature of PRO, this study casts doubt on the possibility of its application to certain Korean constructions including subject-raising cases. Thus, this study critically examine Hornstein s (1999) analysis, and raises some questions against it based on the subject-raising construction in Korean.
