국문 초록
연구방법의 두 축은 양적 연구(quantitative research)와 질적 연구(qualitative research)이지만, 그동안 통계학 영역에서는 주로 양적 연구방법이 중점적으로 다루어져왔다. 그러나 연구방법의 활성화를 위해서는 질적 연구에 대한 이해가 요구되는 바, 이에 본 논문에서는 양적 연구와의 비교를 통하여 질적 연구에 대해서 고찰해 보았다. 이를 통하여 연구의 완성도를 높이기 위한 일환으로 두 연구방법의 통합 가능성 및 나아가야 할 방향에 대해서 알아보았다.
영문 초록
Two major axes of survey research are quantitative research method and qualitative research method. But in the statistics, quantitative research method is treated as a tool. Thus in this paper, we review that comparing the qualitative research with quantitative research. From the discussion of the characteristics of each research method, we study the possibility and desirability of their integration into a more encompassing methodological framework.
