대학 내 비주류 학생들의 학생참여에 대한 영향요인 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국교육개발원의 한국교육종단조사 7·8차년도 데이터를 활용하여 대학 내 비주류 학생들(정원 외 특별전형, 이공계 여학생)의 대학교육 참여 정도와 이에 영향을 미치는 요인들에 대해 분석하였다. 7·8차년도 설문지를 모두 완료한 총 2,015명의 자료를 최종분석에 사용되었으며, 연구문제 분석을 위해 t검정과 위계적 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 학생들의 능동적 학습은 모든 비주류 학생집단에서 학생 심리 변수에 의해 가장 많은 영향을 받으며, 교수-학생 상호작용은 대학 경험에 의해 가장 많이 설명되었다. 정원 외 특별전형 입학 학생이자 이공계 여대생의 특성을 중복적으로 지닐 때, 정원 외 특별전형 학생들은 단일 특성의 학생들보다 높은 수준의 능동적 학습을 보였다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 대학 내 비주류 학생들에 대한 폭넓은 이해가 필요함과 더불어 향후 이들의 대학교육 참여를 높이기 위한 대학차원의 지원방안을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine (1) whether there exists the difference on student engagement in college between general students and minority group students, (2) whether personal attributes and other social factors can affect engagement of minority group students and (3) how students can be influenced on engagement in college if they have multiple attributes of minority group students. The sample consists of 2,015 students from the panel data of Korean Educational Longitudinal Study. The results suggest that academic challenge and active learning are the most influential factors to minority group students compared to general students. Personal attributes and other social factors link different level of engagement of minority group student. Finally the finding indicates that students who accepted into college through a special admission and also have characteristic which is female students in science, technology and engineering majors have distinctive differences on student engagement compared to the students who only have either one.
