태안반도 촌락가옥의 유형에 관한 연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 지붕형태와 지붕재료를 중심으로 태안반도 촌락가옥의 유형을 분류하고, 태안반도 촌락가옥의 특성을 분석하는 연구이다. 문화지리학의 관심 분야인 촌락가옥 연구를 발전적으로 계승하고, 태안반도 촌락가옥의 유형과 그 변화를 분석한다. 태안반도 촌락에서 팔작지붕 가옥, 컬러강판지붕 가옥, 기와지붕 가옥의 비중이 다른 지역에 비교해서 높게 나타나는데, 이것은 태안반도에 유입된 양반문화의 영향과 밀접한 관련이 있다고 추정된다. 맞배지붕 가옥, 맞배변형지붕 가옥, 아스팔트싱글지붕 가옥의 비중이 높은 것은 관광산업 개발과 도시화의 영향으로 인해 신축 가옥의 증가와 관련이 있다고 본다. 또한 우진각지붕 가옥과 인조슬레이트지붕 가옥의 비중은 1970년대 지붕개량 이후 남아있는 노후화된 가옥의 비중과 관련이 있다고 본다. 지붕형태와 지붕재료의 교차분석을 통해 팔작지붕-컬러강판지붕 가옥, 평지붕-시멘트지붕 가옥, 우진각지붕-인조슬레이트지붕 가옥, 맞배지붕-아스팔트싱글지붕 가옥, 맞배변형지붕-아스팔트싱글지붕 가옥 등이 두드러지게 나타나는 촌락가옥 유형임을 파악할 수 있다. 이 연구를 통해 태안반도 촌락가옥의 유형적 특성을 밝히고, 나아가 태안반도 촌락경관을 이해할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This paper deals with the types of rural housing in the Taean Peninsula with a focus on the roof types and materials for the purpose of understanding the characteristics of rural housing types. The type of rural housing, one of the main themes in cultural geography, explains the rural landscape in the Taean Peninsula and makes it possible to compare the rural area with others. The hip-and-gable roof type, the precoated-steel-plate roof type, and the tile roof type are more dominant in the study area than in other rural areas, probably because of the influence of Yangban culture in the Taean Peninsula. The predominance of the gable roof type and the asphalt-shingle roof type is positively related to the rising new housing construction due to the increasing tourism and the urbanization. On the other hand, the hip roof type and the artificial-slate roof type are strongly connected with the high proportion of old houses that remain unchanged after the roof improvement in the 1970s. This study accounts for the characteristics of rural housing and, hopefully if possible, the landscape of rural settlements in the Taean Peninsula.
