국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 레크리에이션 치료 (Recreation Therapy, 이하 RT) 분야의 세계 각국의 경향 및 쟁점들을 분석하여 한국에서의 RT 전문화 가능성 및 방향성에 대해 언급하고자 하는 것이다. 첫째, 본고에서는 미국에서의 RT에 초점을 두고 현재의 동향과 앞으로의 진행방향에 대해 기술하였고 둘째, 다섯 국가 (호주, 캐나다, 핀란드, 일본, 뉴질랜드)의 RT의 성장 및 발전에 대해 언급하였다. 마지막으로, 다른 나라들의 발전과정과 미래의 방향성을 토대로 한국에서의 RT의 발전적 미래에 대한 방안을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The main purposes of this paper were to examine trends and issues in the field of recreation therapy (RT) from global and international perspectives and to provide implications for professionals in RT in Korea. First, in this paper, RT in the U.S.A., focusing on their current trends and future movements, is discussed. Second, growth and development of RT in five foreign countries (i.e., Australia, Canada, Finland, Japan, and New Zealand) are discussed. Lastly, based on the current trends and future directions projected from other countries, suggestions and recommendations for future growth of RT in Korea are provided.
