The policy for changing the problem of school sport fundamentally that is ‘student athletes play only sports and general students do only studying was started. The policy was only adapted to soccer which is the most popular and largest sized sport in Korea and then will extend to other sports progressively. From this year, All national tournament games held by some organizations was abolished and a new local league and a national champion (king to king champion) was started for elementary, middle and high school soccer. For this, a leading business project for normalization of school sport was initiated. The purpose of this study was to provide the information of project on school sport revolution for both study and athletics balance in Korea. The investigation on abolishment of many national tournament games and change to the new local league for elementary, middle and high school soccer was executed. Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Ministry of Culture, Sport, and Tourism, Korea Football Association said that operation of the school sport teams which have pleased athletics with studying is better for both total growth of student-athlete and soccer performance in the long term than those of teams which have only athletics without studying. For this, last April, a Task Force Team was set up and it consisted of such members as the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Ministry of Culture, Sport, and Tourism, Korea Football Association, soccer coaches,professors, and reporter. And school soccer revolution methods were made with opinion seeking through a variety of channels. Soccer revolution methods were as follows: 1. Abolishment of national tournament games and changing to the weekend local league. 2. Open the games to all youth who likes soccer. 3. Expansion of soccer base and strengthen of study right with both study and athletics. 4. Soccer performance enhancement and local culture activation by the method of Home and Away. 5. Consist of Organizing Committee and preparation for game rule. 6 . Education and public relation, and infra setting. For the activation of the school sport, Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology and Ministry of Culture, Sport, and Tourism executed the soccer as the leading business and will evaluate the operation success, and extend to other sports progressively in the future.
