Communication Style, Communication Competence, and Empathic Ability according to Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Personality Type of Education Administrative Officials

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 대전광역시 교육행정직 공무원의 MBTI 성격유형을 파악하고, MBTI 성격유형에 따른 커뮤니케이션 스타일, 커뮤니케이션 능력, 공감능력의 차이가 있는지를 분석하는 것이다. 자료 수집은 2016년 8월 2일에서 9월 9일까지 수행되었고, 자기보고식 설문지를 통해 수집된 276명의 자료를 SPSS WIN 18.0으로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, MBTI 선호경향에 따른 커뮤니케이션 스타일의 차이가 있었다. 주장력은 내향형, 감각형, 감정형이 높았으며, 반응성은 외향형, 감정형이 높았다. 둘째, MBTI 선호경향에 따른 커뮤니케이션 능력은 외향형, 감정형이 높았으며, 공감능력은 외향형, 직관형, 감정형이 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 셋째, MBTI 심리기능유형에 따른 커뮤니케이션 능력과 공감능력은 모두 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 사후검증결과 공감능력은 NF형 집단이 ST형, NT형보다 유의하게 높았다. 넷째, MBTI 심리기질유형에 따른 커뮤니케이션 능력은 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었으나 공감능력은 유의한 차이가 있었다. 사후검증결과 공감능력은 NF형 집단이 SP형, NT형, SJ형 집단보다 유의하게 높게 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences of communication style, the communication competence, and empathic ability according to MBTI personality type of education administrative officials in Daejeon Metropolitan City. Data collection was conducted from August 2, 2016 to September 9, and 276 data collected through self-report questionnaire were analyzed by SPSS WIN 18.0. As a result of analysis, first, there was a difference in communication style according to MBTI preference tendency. Second, according to MBTI preference tendency, there was a statistically significant difference between E type and F types in communication competence, and between the E type, N type, and F types in empathic ability. Third, there was statistically significant difference in communication competence and empathic ability according to 4 functions of MBTI. NF type group had significantly higher empathic ability than ST type and NT type. Finally, there was a significant difference in empathic ability according to 4 temperaments of MBTI. NF type group was significantly higher empathic ability than that of SP type, NT type, and SJ type.
