영문 초록

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the quality of life in the elderly who received percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and to find the relationship among the quality of life, health behavior and social support. Methods: The subjects were 107 elderly patients who were over sixty years old. They have been diagnosed with angina pectoris or myocardial infarction at the B general hospital in Busan and received PCI for the first time. When they participated in this study, it took 3 to 12 months since they received PCI. The data were collected from September 1st to November 6th in 2009. Data were analyzed SPSS/Win 19.0. For analyzing factors affecting the quality of life, a hierarchical multiple regression was performed. Results: The research showed that 12.1% of the participants answered ‘current smoking’. Concerning the regularity of exercise 15.0% of the participants answered ‘non-exercise’. The social support showed a significant positive correlation with quality of life and health behavior. The social support significantly influenced on quality of life and the variable was 19.7% explainable by quality of life. Through this study, it was found that social support was a significant factor impacting on the quality of life in elderly patients. Conclusion: Therefore, it is necessary for the elderly patients to invent the actual mediating social devices because they can improve their health behavior and quality of life by providing the various kinds of socially supported programs.
