종교다원주의 상황에서 예수 그리스도의 유일성에 대한 선포

다원주의 현상은 오늘날 전 세계적인 현상일 뿐 아니라 교회선교에 큰 도전과 장애물이 되고 있다. 신학자들 가운데서"예수 그리스도를 통하지 않고서는 구원이 없다"(행4:12)는 성경의 분명한 가르침을 내려놓고"예수가 구주임이 틀림없지만 하나님은 예수를 통하지 않고서도 인간을 구원을 할 수 있다"는 포용적 구원론 그리고 모든 종교는 유효하고 동일한 가치를 지니기 때문에 특정 종교가 자신의 것을 절대진리 로 주장하며 타 종교를 비판하는 것은 잘못되었다는 종교다원사상을 주장하는 자들이 늘어나고 있다는 사실이다. 연구자는 본 연구에서 먼저 20세기 종교다원주의사상을 발흥시킨 사회적, 문화적, 그리고 종교적 상황을 분석하였다. 그런 후 세계복음화를 위한 로잔운동(Lausanne Movement for World Evangelization)의 2010년 로잔 3차 대회에서 작성된 케이프타운 서약(Cape Town Commitment)에 천명된 다원주의의 도전에 대한 경계 및 예수 그리스도의 유일성 고백에 대한 내용을 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 각기 진리성을 주장하는 다양한 종교들이 현존하는 오늘과 같은 상황에서 지난 2000여년 동안 교회가 순교자들을 내며 지켜온 예수 그리스도의 유일성을 확고하게 유지하되 자칫 종교들 간의 충돌과 갈등으로 말미암은 사회적 불안을 피하기 위해 타종교와 어떻게 창조적 관계를 설정할 것인지에 대한 신학적 논의를 하였다.

영문 초록

It is the common belief today that all religions are basically the same. Religious pluralism is an affirmation of the validity of every religion, and the refusal to choose between them, and the rejection of world evangelism. The belief that there are many valid ways to God is becoming a great barrier to the mission of the church. In today's religious world, they say that it is very important to be respectful of other people's religions- social unstability or wars can result if we are not respectful of other religions and cultures. John Hick, Karl Rahner, Paul Knitter are the most influential and articulate spokesman today for the view that all religions constitute, in their own culturally and historically conditioned manner, responses to the same ultimate reality. Also evangelical theologians such as Clark Pinnock, John Sanders, Norman Anderson argue that everyone will have an opportunity to be saved so that the possibility of salvation is universally accessible. The Cape Town Commitment is a comprehensive document, faithfully reflecting the proceedings of the Third International Congress on World Evangelization, which took place in Cape Town in October 2010. The CTC remains within the Lausanne call of the whole church taking the whole gospel to the whole world. The two-part Cape Town Commitment, issuing from the Congress, stands in the historic line of the Lausanne Covenant. Neither the Covenant nor the Manila Manifesto make any allowance for an inclusivistic or pluralistic position that would say Christ works equally in all religions or that Christianity is just one amongst many equally valid religious traditions. The CTC affirmed the uniqueness of Christ, and the truth of the biblical gospel; and a clear statement on evangelism and the mission of the Church We, evangelicals must face the threat of postmodern relativistic pluralism with biblical, Christian truth. Against pluralism, we evangelicals affirm that God has acted decisively, supremely, and normatively in the historical Jesus of Nazareth. In his person and work, Jesus is unique such that no one comes to the Father except through him. All salvation in the Biblical sense of eternal life, life in the Kingdom, reconciliation with God, and forgiveness of sins comes solely from the person and work of Jesus Christ. This purpose of this paper is threefold: (1) to investigate situations which made pluralism arise in the areas of social, cultural and religions; (2) to explore the challenge of pluralism and affirmation of the finality of Jesus Christ in the CTC; (3) to make some constructive suggestions how evangelical churches to make a creative relationship with other faiths in religious/postmodern pluralistic situation.
