영문 초록

Diverse methodology of writing education is explored for the highly information-oriented modern society. One of the methods is engaged with using a variety of visual media. In particular, writing education using film draws attention. However, most writing education using film focuses on its subject matter and merely replaces reading words with visual graphic media. This thesis aims to suggest a more proactive way to use visual media for teaching writing. Fundamentally, it aims for the education focusing on writing rather than current education that relies on the subject matter. This thesis suggests a way to integrate writing a descriptive phrase with “framing,” one of the basic composition of film. As an expressive measure, a frame in the movie presents various meaning for different arrangement of subjects. Deleuze explains framing in the system of difference and open system. In this vein, writing education using framing structure is expected to develop creativity. This thesis, therefore, aims to support the validity and necessity of writing education using film structure by providing examples presenting the possibilities of organic composition of descriptive writing applied with framing.
